Glenn Beck and radio pals Pat Gray and Stu Burguiere rattled down the list of potential Republican nominees for President in 2012 this morning, and they had some bad news for the Tea Party movement: Sarah Palin probably wont run, Ron Paul is still and long shot, and Mitt Romney, as of now, is the GOPs best bet.
While Gray and Burguiere are harsh to most of the candidates, Beck spreads the love around. He tells his co-hosts that he likes Palin but doesnt think she will run, Bobby Jindal but doesnt think he has the charisma, and Congressman Paul but doesnt think America is ready for him. Then, at the bottom of the pile, he finds Mitt Romney:
"I have to tell you that Mitt Romney could be the only guy that could win, and I dont know if he could because I think that Americans are going to be I mean, this country is going to be in deep trouble by 2012, and the next term, if its not decided this term, the next term will decide our fate. Then I hope that Americans are ready for an adult and are ready for hard news."
Its a strange, possibly sad conclusion from someone who had called Romney out for flirting with socialism, but ultimately Beck was trying to determine who could win, not who he thought should. If Beck was playing process of elimination, which he clearly was, its hard to refute his conclusion that Romney is the least likely candidate to crash and burn in a general election, if only for being a conservative from the most liberal state of America and having moderate successes like universal health care under his belt. Or and this one is for you conspiracy theorists out there maybe Beck is intentionally downplaying the Republican candidates ability to success so as to clear the brush and become the reluctant right-wing candidate by default. After all, he is the second-most popular human being in America. (Link to a Harris poll: Glenn Beck is the second most popular television personality in America second only to Oprah Winfrey.)
Listen to the segment below:
That's what happens when a man is so weak that he can't even hold a CHURCH together!
FLY! my pretties!! - FLY!!!
You are doing more than that.
I posted that to you when you asked me what I thought the Mormon religion was teaching about race in 1978, and you ignored it and posted some irrelevant cut and paste about Romney being a Bishop in the 1980s and a Stake president until 1994, (when he was raising funds for abortion).
I posted it again and asked you if you were calling it inaccurate, and you ignored it again, and now want to know why I used the Mormon leader that we all know here, as an example of a white man holding a position that a black man could not hold in the racist Mormon religion.
You sure know how to waste some one’s time.
HISTORY shows that Joseph Smith 'claimed' to have learned that PRESBYTERIANism was untrue.
Any MERIT to this story?
MORMONism; on the other hand...
It would be nice if you did not react but understood the scriptures more before trying to say something that is being taken out of context in the scheme of historical biblical understanding.
Instead of trying to talk for the blackman would it not be best to hear what they experience and walk!

How boring your life would be Elsie if you did not have the LDS as your whipping post!
LOL, evidently my post was accurate.
That a little black boy could not dream, that a black man could not serve.
Mitt Romney had a position that a man with black skin could not serve in, is my understanding
You're saying, Resty, that it was the Lord who changed his mind about the races?
That it didn't have anything to do with Romney?
And you wondered in another post why Romney was being "singled out" among millions of other Mormons who were adult priestholders in 1978 and before?
Well, here, let me toss out a freebie question to the secular media they can ask the Mittster during the upcoming campaign:
Mr. Romney, do you believe that your peculiarly Mormon Scripture on proper consideration for the owners of slaves (Doctrine & Covenants 134:12) still applies today?
And, Resty, since you don't want us to "single out" Mitt, let me ask you pointblank: Do you, Restornu, believe that your peculiarly Mormon Scripture on proper consideration for the illegal pimps & masters who operate the sex trafficking trade -- treating these women and children as sex slaves -- does D&C 134:12 apply to them? Yes? No? If not, why not?
Setting: Summer, 1835: Joseph Smith felt behooved to address slavery amongst the bigger umbrella of obeying laws, rulers, etc. Now D&C 134:1,3,5,8 all tell Mormons to obey laws, rulers & their government. But then we get to verse 12...note the highlighted words:
We believe it just to preach the gospel to the nations of the earth, and warn the righteous to save themselves from the corruption of the world; but we do NOT believe it right to...
...interfere with bond-servants,
...neither preach the gospel to,
...nor baptize them contrary to the will and wish of their masters,
...nor to meddle with or influence them in the least to cause them to be dissatisfied with their situations in this life,
...thereby jeopardizing the lives of men; such interference we believe to be unlawful and unjust, and dangerous to the peace of every government allowing human beings to be held in servitude.
Questions:
* Is this "scripture" still on the record as standing canonized authority for the Mormon church? (Yes)
* Has any scripture statement superceded, trumped or "manifesto-ed" it out of authority? (No)
* Well how does the Mormon church then reconcile a statement made by its spokesman, Michael Purdy -- The blessings of the church are available to anyone who qualifies for membership and accepts the gospel of Jesus Christ -- with D&C 134:12?
* How can lds "scripture" say that it's not "right to...preach the gospel to...bond-servants [slaves] ...nor baptize them contrary to the will and wish of their masters?" -- while simultaneously claiming the gospel can be accepted by anyone and that anyone can become a member?
* Well, can slaves be baptized and become an LDS member if their master says "no?" (Not according to D&C 134:12)
* What about a girl who is being "trafficked" as a sex slave...can she be baptized & become a Mormon even if her "pimp" says no? (Not according to D&C 134:12)
* Does Joseph Smith have authority in the Mormon church or not?
I really don’t get you point ansell!
For some reason you want to make this only about Romney!
At one time all priesthood holder were in the same situation until the Lord gave the sanction to lift it!
now the statement you made was untrue
That a little black boy could not dream, that a black man could not serve.
Because is it not true all worthy males can hold the Priesthood also if you listen to the talk you would have known that this ordinance would happen someday.
Now you have not acknowledge my other post where the Lord has with held the priesthood and than again restored it and included more of his children in it!
At one time only the Sons of Levi held the priesthood members of the other tribes of Israel did not hold it!
Hebrew 5
4 And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.
at one in Numbers 16 the Lord only has the Levi hold His priesthood.
Those who study ponder and pray over their scripures understand the ways of the Lord are not the same as the world ways!
So you might think your accursation has merit but man still has to wait for the Lord to say when things are to be done.
Numbers 16
3 And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the Lord?
4 And when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face:
5 And he spake unto Korah and unto all his company, saying, Even to morrow the Lord will shew who are his, and who is holy; and will cause him to come near unto him: even him whom he hath chosen will he cause to come near unto him.
6 This do; Take you censers, Korah, and all his company;
7 And put fire therein, and put incense in them before the Lord to morrow: and it shall be that the man whom the Lord doth choose, he shall be holy: ye take too much upon you, ye sons of Levi.
8 And Moses said unto Korah, Hear, I pray you, ye sons of Levi:
9 Seemeth it but a small thing unto you, that the God of Israel hath separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to himself to do the service of the tabernacle of the Lord, and to stand before the congregation to minister unto them?
10 And he hath brought thee near to him, and all thy brethren the sons of Levi with thee: and seek ye the priesthood also?
both being mormons, beck might be a bit biased
This is a thread about Mitt Romney and politics, remember that? Romney being a leader in a racist religion in these modern times is a big part of this, especially since he is being promoted by the Mormon Glenn Beck in this piece.
You seem OK with that racism and you want to wash it away with some gibberish, I can’t really make out your posts, but they seem evasive from what I can make out.
Just more strawman which you love to engage in!
The Lord told his child in ancient times as well in modern time the Lords children are counsel to obey the Law of the land also it is one of the articles of Faith
12 We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
When one remain patience and exercise faith in the Lord byd obeying the Lord then the Lord is able to lift the ban upon His people maybe you should study the Old Testament study Joseph of Egypt sometime!
I have not mention Romney it is many always bring it up I have talked about the LDS and various situation.
I might not always spell right or use correct grammar which makes my written skills weak in this type of forum but I thank the Lord for being able to grasp the conversation of others.
The Founders 28 Basic Principles of a Free Government
The Founders embedded into the Declaration of Independence and Constitution
(These 28 Principles are outlined in Dr. Cleon Skousens book The Miracle that Changed the World)
Choose your candidate based on how closely he/she adheres to these Foundational Principles of Constitutional Government.
Principle # 1: The only reliable basis for sound government and just human relations is Natural Law.
Principle # 2: A free people cannot survive under a republican constitution unless they remain virtuous and morally strong.
Principle # 3: The most promising method of securing a virtuous and morally stable people is to elect virtuous leaders.
Principle # 4: Without religion the government of a free people cannot be maintained.
Principle # 5: All things were created by God, therefore upon Him all mankind are equally dependent, and to Him they are equally responsible.
Principle # 6: All men are created equal.
Principle # 7: The proper role of government is to protect equal rights, not provide equal things.
Principle # 8: Men are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights.
Principle # 9: To protect man=s rights, God has revealed certain principles of divine law.
Principle # 10: The God-given right to govern is vested in the sovereign authority of the whole people.
Principle # 11: The majority of the people may alter or abolish a government which has become tyrannical.
Principle # 12: The United States of America shall be a republic.
Principle # 13: A constitution should be structured to permanently protect the people from the human frailties of their rulers.
Principle # 14: Life and liberty are secure only so long as the right to property is secure.
Principle # 15: The highest level of prosperity occurs when there is a free-market economy and a minimum of government regulations. (This encompasses the freedom to try, to buy, to sell, to fail.)
Principle # 16: The government should be separated into three branches B legislative, executive, and judicial.
Principle # 17: A system of checks and balances should be adopted to prevent the abuse of power.
Principle # 18: The unalienable rights of the people are most likely to be preserved if the principles of government are set forth in a written constitution.
Principle # 19: Only limited and carefully defined powers should be delegated to government, all others being retained in the people.
Principle # 20: Efficiency and dispatch require government to operate according to the will of the majority, but constitutional provisions must be made to protect the rights of the minority.
Principle # 21: Strong local self-government is the keystone to preserving human freedom.
Principle # 22: A free people should be governed by law and not by the whims of men.
Principle # 23: A free society cannot survive as a republic without a broad program of general education.
Principle # 24: A free people will not survive unless they stay strong.
Principle # 25: Peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations B entangling alliances with none.
Principle # 26: The core unit which determines the strength of any society is the family; therefore, the government should foster and protect its integrity.
Principle # 27: The burden of debt is as destructive to freedom as subjugation by conquest.
Principle # 28: The United States has a manifest destiny to be an example and a blessing to the entire human race.
A sobering quote from John Adams: I always consider the settlement of America with reverence and wonder, as the opening of a grand scene and design in Providence for the illumination of the ignorant, and the emancipation of the slavish part of mankind all over the world.
Elected officials today (2004) have big shoes to fill, with giants such as George Washington, John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, James Madison, James Monroe, and Abraham Lincoln to follow.
Another Quote by
George Washington
A primary object ... should be the education of our youth in the science of government. In a republic, what species of knowledge can be equally important? And what duty more pressing...than communicating it to those who are to be the future guardians of the liberties of the country. (Solid advise in the 1790s, as well as for a 2008 Presidential Election.)
Who cares about all that nonsense, I’m not interested in your long, unfocused, irrelevant ramblings and links.
This thread is about a scum bag Mormon politician that is being pushed by a Mormon talk show host to derail the conservative movement.
Of course the racist (until God told them to stop it in 1978) Mormon religion is a huge factor because this Mormon guy is going to try and take out a black man that is President.
This racist religion will play a big role, especially since Romney is so powerful in that religion and his entire family was devoted to that racist theology, even when the father was running as the weak, anti war candidate in the 1960s and Romney was in France teaching the racist religion to French people.
Thank you for letting me peer into your house of wax!

I don’t know what that is about, but the Mormon racism will hurt Romney. We better let Beck know that he needs to drop this Romney effort.
Excuse me Beck has never endorsed nor supports Romney
When Obama was leading Hillary did you think those like Dick Morris or Karl Rove was endorsing Obama
NO they were just telling it like it was at those times he was high in the polls...
I have no candidate because so far I have not heard anyone defending the constitution if you do not defend it strongly this time than the nation will just be delaying the inevitable!
Beck pushed Romney heavily in this piece and dismissed Romney’s top competition with a single, dismissive sentence.
Beck made Mitt Romney the center piece and sole winner, of this phony analysis.
I did not hear that at all what I heard was looking for
He is on Fox now!
