Michael Steele's lame excuse
NY Post ^ | April 07, 2010 | Editorial

Republican National Chairman Michael Steele, in hot water for an embarrassing spending scandal involving a Hollywood gay sex club, is responding in a tried, true and tiresome way.

Asked on "Good Morning America" if he thought he was being criticized unfairly because he's African-American, Steele bit.

"The honest answer is, 'Yes,' " he said, adding that "Barack Obama has a slimmer margin. A lot of folks do. It's a different role for me to play and others to play and that's just the reality of it."

Bad move, Mike.

Fact is, any party chairman whose national committee reimbursed a contributor to the tune of $2,000 for a night at a West Hollywood bondage-themed lesbian nightspot would be under the gun.

Based on that whiney, racist answer alone, Steele should be removed immediately. He obviously belongs in the “I’m a victim” party, aka the dims.

This race baiting fool has to go. Unfortunately, the RNC is too darn timid to sack him.
If they could arrange to have 4 rather large men carry him off to a pristine room deep under the art, and keep him there till the elections are over, we'll score a major victory in November.
As it is, no one knows when he will open his mouth next, and make yet another statement that is damaging to the Republican Party. He could very well come up with some idiotic nonsense on November 1st and do us damage just before the elections.

Steele was put in his current position to try to make the Pubbies not look racist and to counter obammy.
This move didn’t work as all blacks voted for the marxist pos anyway.
Steele is garbage and living large at the trough.
Can him/

I agree. Now the Republican Party must keep him forever or be called racist, again. Political correctness requires tribute!

He could possibly be eased out into a sinecure of campaign planner. After all he has only bumbled one and managed the other three infinitely better than Obama’s kiss-o-death.

Steele was put in his current position to try to make the Pubbies not look racist and to counter obammy.

Well..Steele was elected because frankly none of the A list candidates stepped forward for the job. At the time, everyone thought the Republican Party was finished, according to James Craville, “for the next 40 years” due to 0bozo’s magic. Steele, ever the opportunist seized his chance and won. He wasn't about serving at all. To him, it was all about living it up at donors expenses, the finest hotels, chattered jets etc etc, while filling his pockets with money from his book sales and paid speeches.
Why, the first thing he did when he took office was to demand that the RNC buy a private jet for crying out loud!
Then he demanded they redecorate his office, because “it’s too male for me him”(cost $18,500). Go figure.
A private jet at the peak of a recession huh?

This move didn’t work as all blacks voted for the marxist pos anyway”

Well Steele was elected AFTER 0bozo had been elected president so that couldn't have had any effect.

Gingrich (and Steele) both need to get a life. Defending Steele, in hopes that the Chairman’s skin color will win black votes, is ridiculous.

Bill Bennett mentioned him this a.m. and the fiasco....

It was cold and I think a bit of untying the rope for the boat against the dock, if you get my drift...

I don't think he has long as RNC chairmen. My guess is he knows it and is looking for an exit strategy and a replacement, just like a good CEO always has an emergency transition plan should they have to leave unexpectedly.

We should get a line going on Intelitrade or what ever the heck it is to get the nations sentiment as too how soon or what date he is gone....

So because he is black too, now everyone that dislikes what has happened is now a Racist. So every big campaign donater is racist, because the funds were used for inappropriate entertainment. Family values - the entertainment that was achieved has no real family values. The best thing for this race baiter is to step down. Another black moron whom thinks he is entitled for leadership becuse he is coloured. It has nothing to do with your colour, it has to do with the inept leadership that has been part of the RNCP - Real Nin Com Poops

The idea that if Steele is fired today his loss would cost the GOP votes in November isn't something that makes any sense at all. What essential role does he play?
Dump him and move on, he's a distraction.

I agree with you. If anything, keeping him on is very dangerous for the GOP in November. He is so unpredictable, there is no telling what he will say or do just before the elections, that could cost us a few points here and there, and end up costing us the majority in the House or the Senate.
Question is, will the RNC have the balls to do it? I don't think so. The RNC hasn't had the balls to do anything for a long time.

The race card is a part of black culture.

It is ingrained in the black mind from the day of birth until, the day they die. Any slight against a black person is thought by them to be because they are black. It has nothing to do with attitude, temperament, arrogance, appearance, or any other reason except their skin color. This is their belief.

It is pretty apparent that even many white people feel this way, as Chrissy Mathews , Olberman, and Madcow all agree that Tea partiers are merely racists.Obama’s screw ups and arrogance and socialism are never the cause of anyone rejecting him. It’s because he is black.

I thought the race card belonged to liberals. Time for Steele to go.
