Please size it a little better next time, please.
Thanks.
HUH?

You betcha they are...as the mother of 3...this is the last stage before the baby is born!!!
True that!! Time to get our “houses” in order!!
“Bush’s fault”? Is that anywhere near the San Andreas? :)
Keep in mind that the tools to measure earthquakes did not become widespread until after 1950.

busy as ever! Mostly hang out on Amy’s Place thread! Come on over and visit us sometime! lol
Someday soon we will spend eternity together, where we can relax and really visit!!!!!!
Amen come!!
The data I provided takes that into account by including only earthquakes large enough to be detected on devices positioned anywhere in the world, even though there were fewer of them.
From the same link:
"this trend needs to be understood in relation to the increase in seismographs. Certainly, in the last 25 years, more lower intensity earthquakes have been noticed because of a general increase in the number of seismograph stations across the world and improved global communications. This increase has helped seismological centres to locate many small earthquakes which were undetected in earlier decades. Therefore, an upward trend is not unexpected in the graph, although the rise in the number of large earthquakes will be of more significance to our assessment of the trend.
By limiting the range of earthquakes being counted in this report to magnitude 7 or above, it means these earthquakes can easily be identified by a limited number of seismographs, and we have ensured that any increase in frequency for these larger earthquakes cannot be down to the increase in overall detection rates in this 25-year period, as all these larger earthquakes are able to be easily detected with fewer seismograph stations."
I’ll come visit there. And yes, we will visiting in Heaven for sure.
It was a joke. Bush's "fault"/San Andreas fault.
Matthew 24:7
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in diverse places.
Richter scale is exponential, thus the 9.3 is nearly 50 times as strong as a 7.8
Yeppers - I’m just going along too! LOL
Have a good evening my friend!
First thing I thought too...
OK, I just wasn’t sure you picked up on the Bush’s “fault” thing.
Perhaps some modern tools to measure seismic activity weren’t as precise until the last 60 yrs, one would be hard pressed to assert man wasn’t able to identify earthquakes of significant size for several millenia and duly record them historically.
Historically the case may be made that the tempo of significant quakes, in diverse places has been increasing even from records kept over the past 200 years.
Asserting earthquakes have not increased statistically over the past 2 millenia with time is a more more difficult task than documenting their increase.
i.e. when significant quakes happen in your area, you know about it and people remember and record the consequences (at least where there are survivors) (and where no survivors remain there are also indications for scientists to evaluate verifying such events).
But on the lighter side, perhaps this is proof that THEY have been able to synthesize Karl Rove’s Earthquake Machine and WE must have counterattacked when they tried to hit SoCA but hit Baja instead. <;^0
