Butler took Duke to the final possession Monday night, but Gordon Hayward's potential game-winners drew iron as the Blue Devil won the national title 61-59.

“Would Haywards shot been The Greatest Shot of All Time?”
Absolutely!
All the way to the National Championship!!! Losers cry about the refs. I know Butler (a Great Team!) won’t cry!
Agreed.
Agreed.
No...towards the end when the ball went out of bounds, it was rewarded to Butler but Zoobek push Howard down, it should have been two shot to Butler.
Oh brother.
“The put back by Butler in the 1st half he had his elbow on Nolan Smiths back going up. No call. Lance Thomas got pushed out of bounds on a Butler rebound in the 1st. No call. Doesnt matter cause my Blue Devils are National Champs and thats all that matters!”
Yup, if you go back and watch the game again, I watched the 1st half again already, you will see Hayward get away with at least 3 or 4 fouls that were not called.
Duke was blatantly fouled all night long. Butler would have never been in the game if the refs didn’t have money on Butler.
Most of the refs should be fired and put on probabtion officiating women’s high school ball.
Here’s another, a bout a minute into the video:
Dr. J’s scoop shot against the Lakers - - Amazing.
Oh, stop whining about the refs. You guys sound like a bunch of Nebraska football fans.

“We see it different.
Tonight was the first game in which Butlers opponent actually got some calls.
I wish Michigan State was given those calls. Easy for Butler to control tempo when on their defensive end they NEVER get called for hacking and reach in fouls, while on the other end they get those calls.
Note to media: Butler was a 5 seed not a 16 seed, so quit with the David and Goliath nonsense.
The medias coverage and bias of Butler reminded me of how they cover Obama.”
Maybe the real story was student-athletes being successful in the classroom and on the court versus street thugs that largely made up the teams Butler beat in this tournament.
Michigan State has experience losing to Horizon League teams. Didn’t they lose to Wright State the year they won their last national championship in 2000?
Bullsh!t....watch the replay. He had 3 Butler guys tackle him. One over the back. One pulled his knee and the other pushing him in the chest. He ended up on his arse.
Refs call: Ball went out of bounds off Zoubek’s knee.
Howard set a vicious blind side screen on Singler as Hayward ran past him to take the last shot. Howard helped Duke a lot in this game. They were better off with him in the game. Butler is a great team, but Howard stinks. He hurt his team more than he helped them. Hayward is a tremendous player and will only get better.
What a load a B.S.! Sore loser!
Not to worry. It’s not true! What a load of crap! Just another sore loser! Duke played a great game; so did Butler. KUDOS to both teams...fortunately for this one, Duke came away the victors. Nobody cheated...no bad calls; just a great ball game all the way ‘round...good referees, great coaching, and awesome playing by both teams. Butler did not lose the game...it’s just that in the end, Duke was the team with the lead.
I've watched Kyle Singler since he was playing AAU ball and fell in love with his game. All the best to him. I hope he comes back for his senior year but I suspect he's gone. He is one heck of a basketball player.
Congrats to both teams tonight. A great, great game.
Bump to that, as expected.
I have nothing invested in this game (no bets, and no special team interest). Just a fan of March Madness.
“Michigan State’s problem was that they had one ball handler”
Not to mention they (MSU) were playing at about 75% with all their injuries.
I love physical ball and I have watched it again and there is no way they called a even game.
Having said that MSU beat themselves. If they had just made free throws, Butler would have been sitting home tonight.
MSU probably played their worse game of the year Saturday.
I think there are too many fouls called in basketball to begin with.
Let em play I say, but call it both ends.
“not to mention on every offensive position he dropped his shoulder and plowed into the lane”
Just a bit of an exaggeration.
By the way Butlers Hayward is a true gamer.
Good kid.
