Does U.S. Need To Split Along Political Lines?

Ten years ago I asked the following question in a column titled "It's Time To Part Company":
"If one group of people prefers government control and management of people's lives and another prefers liberty and a desire to be left alone, should they be required to fight, antagonize one another, risk bloodshed and loss of life in order to impose their preferences or should they be able to peaceably part company and go their separate ways?"
The problem that our nation faces is very much like a marriage where one partner has broken, and has no intention of keeping, the marital vows. Of course, the marriage can remain intact and one party tries to impose his will on the other and engage in the deviousness of one-upmanship. Rather than submission by one party or domestic violence, a more peaceable alternative is separation.
I believe we are nearing a point where there are enough irreconcilable differences between those Americans who want to control other Americans and those Americans who want to be left alone that separation is the only peaceable alternative. Just as in a marriage, where vows are broken, our human rights protections guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution have been grossly violated by a government instituted to protect them.
The Democrat-controlled Washington is simply an escalation of a process that has been in full stride for at least two decades. There is no evidence that Americans who are responsible for and support constitutional abrogation have any intention of mending their ways.
You say, "Williams, what do you mean by constitutional abrogation?" Let's look at just some of the magnitude of the violations.

Central Texas would be better. We do have one itsy-bitsy problem. Water.
True. Either way too little or way too much.
But there are cisterns and jonboats to counteract that.

Keep in mind that Yugoslavia broke up relatively peacefully into separate countries. Only the Islam issues remain in Kosovo and Bosnia. Czechoslovakia split in two as they couldn't stand each other. Quebec is always talking about leaving. Panama was part of Columbia at one time. Paaaaaahhhhhkeeeeeeshaaaaaahn (or, Pakistan for us non-Obama supporters) was once part of India. And Israel and Palestine are two separate places whether Obama likes it or not. So... Let's just slice up the pie, give the liberals no more than 28 minutes to get the hell out of our country and be done with it!

The major problem with this idea is that the control lovers wouldnt be happy with their section. They would look at the more prosperous liberty loving country and be eaten up with envy
Yes that's absolutely true. The liberals don't produce much wealth. The areas where they live will rapidly become impoverished. The bright and successful people will move to the red states. The free loaders will move to the Blue states. The burden of taking car of the freeloaders will turn the blue states into Greece, or even worse. They will crumble.
As a history professor of mine use to say:
There are three types of people economically:
1. People who produce more wealth than what they consume.
2. People who produce just about the wealth they consume.
3. People who consume more wealth than what they produce.
Right now in America, the people who consume more wealth than what they produce constitute a voting majority. Nothing will get fixed until this is reversed.

For one thing, there would probably be a mass exodus from left-leaning states to liberty loving ones. This is EXACTLY what happened to North Carolina. Liberals moved in, took over and ruined the place. If we split, we need STRONG BORDERS and strict enforcement of immigration laws...

India and Pakistan are not at peace with each other. Because 200,000,000 Muslims remaind in India.

We should buy their houses just to get them out of our hair. Actually, in 1778, we just torched the places and they ran like hell for Canada...

NO “America” does not need to split, the anti-capitalist, anti-freedom, anti-Americans need to split.

The US committed suicide in November 2008. The body’s still thrashing, but it’s dead.
What comes next is recovery.

“Does U.S. Need To Split Along Political Lines?”
Sure, as long as those who wish not to support, preserve and defend the Constitution head to Sweden or Kenya or Russia or where ever else they can find a government to coddle them cradle to grave.

Any time from now would be just fine with me.
The reds will carry on while we enjoy watching the blues beat the hell outta each other and starve to death.
I favor the wall and guns solution to support the blues. Build a wall, throw in guns, come back, if anybody is left, throw in more guns, repeat. These blue areas are pretty much worthless anyway, no loss far as I’m concerned.

For an in depth treatment of the split up America, see the novel Friday by Robert Heiniein
It is a detailed analysis of the forces causing the split circa 1960
I guess it might be dated now but it is a great analysis
