Wow...that was a good shake...it went on for quite a while. Everybody ok?
Please see post 779 and 780.
Comments welcome.
Or just look up at the sky tomorrow and - depending on what you see - PRAY!
(or just pray anyway....never hurts!)
Interesting — I did some Google search on Dr Shou’s predictions of earthquakes based on clouds, after looking at your links.
I hope we won’t have any more earthquakes for a while.
Yes it is interesting. Just found this today.
I hope you are right - about California area - and maybe you are. Perhaps crisis is over there.
And, we note, that there was NOT the terrible damage that a 7.2 earthquake- especially one as shallow as this one was - or the associated aftershocks - in California. Was some damage in Mexico - but, haven’t read of any serious damage in California.
Just look up tomorrow morning - and depending on what you see - if you see any of the types of clouds indicated on the linked articles - PRAY! Ask God for His Protection of you and of all your aread - He will do it! He did it yesterday!
If you see a clear blue sky, with light fluffy clouds or no clouds at all - then the chances are very good - the earthquake crisis is over for your area now. At least for the present “episodes”.
:-) God bless you and yours! He is faithful and will protect you and yours and all who turn to Him and even those who have not yet turned to Him.
Gotta turn in. Will check back on this thread tomorrow morning.
Sleep well everyone. God is in control. Jesus Christ is personally in charge of all that is going on! Rest in Him!
What did the clouds say about 20 mins ago at 9:12? Had a nice little aftershock I felt here in the SD area.
I’ve been in several major earthquakes, and they were always with clear skies.
The only unusual clouds I can think of that might occur would be fissures in the earth that open up as a result of the quake, causing clouds of dust and dirt to be sprayed up into the air.
Otherwise, I can’t think of any other type of cloud present prior to a quake.
.
Thanks for the response and link. I agree with you.
Well we can’t see the clouds can we, usually, in he darkness. But this scientist says that the satellite images of the clouds should be published every 30 minutes because these images SHOW where there is going to be an earthquake.
Read the articles for more. I have JUST YESTERDAY come upon this information.
And it is not just for you in California. Earthquakes are happening EVERYWHERE across the world.
God is at work to KEEP these earthquakes from bringing as much damage as they WOULD bring had His Hand not been in control of these events.
Do you not think it’s odd that a 7.2 quake brought almost NO DAMAGE there in California???
God bless you, by the way!
Did you see post #779 and 780?
Would be interested in your comments.
Well the closest California town was Calexico and last I heard 80% of the downtown area is condemned right now due to damage. 2 things saved Calexico, number 1, is was many miles away from the epicenter and number 2, CA building codes in the newer buildings. The old buildings downtown didn’t have current CA earthquake retrofits and they were damaged. Now there were a couple deaths and much damage in Mexicali, but blame most of that on their constrution. Another reason why this quake wasn’t worse is it wasn’t a heavily populated area say like in Haiti. If the quake was say 75 miles closer to San Diego I think there would have been a lot of damage. I’m glad if we had to have such a powerful quake it was out in the desert area where it couldn’t do a lot of damage.
Thanks for that information. I’m glad too!
Interesting theory.
One that I was not familiar with. I love weather as a hobby so not totally informed but I can not think of an atmospheric condition that would result in cloud creation associated with building stress on a fault.
who knows!
LOL!
The whole idea of clouds affecting plate movements seems a bit far fetched.
I’m a firm believer in God’s protection.
However, there may be a lot of people who don’t know that CA’s building codes are the most strict in the nation.
Even during the recent SF quake and the Northridge quake .. none of the high rises suffered serious damage - only the buildings that had been built prior to the more stringent standards of today.
So .. I don’t think it’s odd that a 7.2 quake, especially one that’s over a hundred miles away, would cause so little damage in San Diego.
The other thing to consider is the type of quake. There are basically 2 types: Rollers and Shakers. This was a rolling quake .. which is the easiest of the quakes. I’ve been in both types, and the shakers always do the most damage.
I just found out that one of the buildings I support equipment in as a back up lost a wall in the earthquake in El Centro.
Yes, I saw several videos of El Centro damage.
Ok thanks. How do you explain the Chile Earthquake which at 8.8 magnitude was 500 times more powerful than the quake that hit Haiti and yet only about 200 were killed?
Yes their building codes were better than those in Haiti - but 500 times stronger???
Whatever.
God bless!
