With Gen. Peter Pace, USMC (Ret.) as V.P. or SecDef.

I don’t know about Petraeus, Republicans insiders say he is a moderate...I don’t know if this is disinformation from potential rivals or not!

Yes that is the question... Don’t need another General Powell

"Issues? Issues?" Said she reaching for the gin, "who gives a damn about issues, we are voting for fruit salad!"

Exactly. I want to see where he stands on the issues before I vote for him. No more Obamas. But on the other hand, I do think he might have the leadership qualities.

In 2012, America will need someone with firm conservative bonafides to roll back the damage being caused now.

I think I need to know how committed the general is to this, before pushing forward.

Americans have never been so disgusted with their politicians. More than three-quarters of Americans disapprove of Congress. President Barack Obama's favourability ratings have slumped to below 50 per cent and he is no longer trusted or believed by many who voted for him.

Cogent statement from the cousins.

Change is coming to America.

Work for it.

No. Not until he is clear on the issues. If he's a moderate...NEVER! There are going to be a lot of possible candidates. Most will just be the same old, same old. Need more input.

As a veteran I do not support Dick Cheney wanting to homosexualize the military, he and Mitt Romney are impossible to vote for based on that alone.

As a serving military officer, General Petraeus cannot properly comment on political issues; that comes with the territory. General Douglas MacArthur did and shouldn't have. Despite his great record as a true military genius, at the end he seemed unable to recognize that President Truman was the President and Commander in Chief and that he (MacArthur) was just the Emperor of Japan. If General Petraeus wants to run for political office he must resign his commission. Then, and only then, can he articulate a political platform.- I respect and admire General Petraeus and think he might be a good president. He has far more leadership ability and political understanding than does President Obama. As to his position on the issues, we must wait and see.

Yea —— Like the 2nd Amendment. Some senior Officers have strange ideas. (Like the Commander of Fort Hood, TX that wanted every soldier to register his/her guns even if he/she
lived off post.) I want to see his stand on issues before I get all heated up. We know where Palin stands and I back her at this time. Old Ike turned out not to be as conserative as the people though.

LOL.

While I appreciate the fruit salad, I have no idea where this man is in his thinking. He’s a tough, determined man, and I admire that. His commitment to military success is to be admired.

Beyond that, we just don’t know much and, since he’s active duty, we really can’t.
