OAKDALE, Calif. (CBS/KOVR) Crowds of students and parents gathered around to watch an Oakdale High School freshman violently beat her classmate. Instead of calling 911, students whipped out their cell phones to record the attack. Manita Hazlewood, the mother of the victim, told CBS affiliate KOVR that her daughter didn't have a chance to fight back. "This girl was on top of her slamming her head into the ground," she said.
The flight lasted about 30 seconds but the girl was already badly beaten and suffered a concussion. A mother, who wants to remain anonymous, says she stepped in to help as she witnessed parents cheering on the attacker.
"I was very shocked. These are grown parents. This girl had enough time, and these people were right next to it," said the woman.
The victim's mother told KOVR, "She's traumatized. Not only was she beaten, it was on YouTube; there's video. I got three different versions of it."
In the recording, students can be heard egging on the attack.
Hazlewood's daughter was brought back to the school and interviewed by administrators and cops. Hazlewood is angry the school didn't call her even though her daughter was badly beaten.
Oakdale Joint Unified School District Superintendent Fred Rich told KOVR, "We try to ensure the safety. It's not always physically possible, especially if we don't know about it."
KOVR says the victim was suspended even though the video allegedly shows her to be the recipient of the attack. The other girl has reportedly been expelled.
Police are investigating. No word yet on what the fight caused the fight.
Arrogantly ive and in person. Watch the youtube at post #4. Incredible!
Dissing!
Wow. Where’s her mother to tell her to STFU?!
The reality is that the girl who perpetrated this is only 15, and is reflecting what she is being taught, by someone, or what she has picked up societally. That’s the biggest problem. Kids fight, but when adults cheer, the problem takes on huge proportions. I favor a huge fine, or even a prison sentence for any adult that has the opportunity and capacity to step in and stop bullying/violence and does not even report it or call the police.
You’re right - I rechecked about ten seconds after I posted, and then asked the Mods to delete it.
Historically, the Libs are playing with fire here. The KKK was started, originally, by men of the south who believed that there was no justice available to them from the Reconstruction government put in place by the North after the war. There were a few instances of black on white crime which was not dealt with by the reconstruction government.
Now the Klan quickly became controlled by haters that used it as a weapon of terrorism and violence to re-oppress the blacks. And that is what they are rightfully known for today.
The point is, whenever the American people come to believe that their local government is a weapon of injustice rather than justice, there are elements who are quick to resort to violence to restore a primitive justice system. Once that genie gets out of the bottle it is impossible to control.
Law and justice works to prevent further violence only when it is perceived to get to the truth and punish the guilty and protect the innocent no matter the race or economic status of the people involved.
What was with that big car that pulled up next to the fight?
One would normally be outraged by this. But it’s becoming such a common incident, it’s no longer even surprising. The American people need to stop using public schools. There is no other way to end the government school nightmare our nation’s youth are trapped in.
My four kids (13 to 5) have all been home schooled since day one, and have sadly missed all of this "vital socialization".
It might as well be Bush’s fault, as I think I read about the same thing happening during Bush’s Administration, too... LOL ...
what a bunch of pussies!
When I was growing up no one would have ever stopped a fight and no one got suspended from school for sure!
you better duck, you forgot the < / sarcasm> tag

You're right, I thought I was having "Deja Vu" when reading this post. I could have sworn I jumped back two years ago, when reading this... LOL ...
It is getting way too common these days, which probably also goes a long ways in explaining how Obama got elected, too... :-)
Unfortunately, my computer is older and will not support video. Thanks for the response.

Are you kidding?! I got stopped in such a fight (teachers pulling me off him), before I beat the guy into oblivion ... LOL ... And I got suspended too (for about a week, doncha know).
Just one little detail. He was the school bully and he started the fight. After the beating and getting out of the hospital, he never came back to school again. :-)
You know damn well an adult would have stopped the fight if they had been around. Kids, no, but an adult, heck yeah.
That’s crazy talk.
No way!
You got something against kids fighting?
I agree...I just got carried away with the whole thought of the Gang-bang, ghetto society (even in the suburbs).
However, to fine or jail these parents would do little good..they would get the ACLU. they will sue the school and the cops. The Great society is irredeemable.
Decades ago we all sold out to the Black Power/alinsky thugs! We bought them off and pay them a monthly check to not riot...its the non-Mafia version of “Protection”.
Freedom is very costly....You have to stand up for freedom AND limits, not buy them off.
