I wish some billionaire (actually I think they need to sell two seats) would bite at this. A trans-lunar human flight now would be a breath of fresh air and would really spotlight the error of our parochial president regarding U.S. manned space travel.
(Of course the fact that the Soviets/Russians have so far only sent some turtles or mice around the moon (way back in Zond) might not inspire much confidence in a prospective billionaire space tourist.)

the president does not have the legal authority to do this. Authority over the Space Program in legally in the hands of Congress.
I would think Congress would be sick to death of this man usurping their power.
