SAN ANTONIO -- When you think of Easter egg hunts, you normally look for what's on the ground. But one local church is doing something a bit different this year.
Northrock Church gave News 4 WOAI a sneak peek at the hundreds of eggs they will be dropping from helicopters. The pastor said this is the first time they have done this, and they wanted to put a different spin on egg hunts.
"This is one of those events that appeals to older children as well as younger children, because everyone thinks it's cool when a helicopter flies over and pours easter eggs out the side," said Paster Jonathon Moore.
Northrock church's easter egg drop is Saturday at Lopez Middle School on the practice fields. The gates open at 9:20 a.m., and the chopper will start dropping the eggs around 11:00 a.m.
The event is FREE and open to any one who wants to take part.

The pastor said this is the first time they have done this "[...]everyone thinks it's cool when a helicopter flies over and pours easter eggs out the side," said Paster Jonathon Moore.
I suppose the "paster" is what we would call a "pastor" in English, but how does he know that "everyone thinks it's cool" if it's the "first time they have done this" ??

Im thinking little remote controlled jobs. How do you get "hundreds" of eggs to drop out of an R/C helicopter, or even a fleet of them?
On command, I mean, and not before.

Turkeys Tossed From A Plane Once a Year Yellville, Arkansas
Yellville has a problem. It wants people to come to its annual Turkey Trot festival -- and yet the most spectacular event in the festival is something that the town can't talk about.
That something is the "Turkey Drop," where live wild turkeys are dropped out of a low-flying airplane that circles the two-day festival.
Turkey Trot has been celebrated on the second Friday and Saturday of October every year since 1946. It was conceived as a way to call attention to the region's abundant wild turkeys. A highlight of the festival was the "Turkey Toss," in which live wild turkeys were tossed off of the roof of the County Courthouse. In the 1960s this was replaced by the Turkey Drop.

Easter at a megachurch in Corpus Christi, Texas, will look like the popular TV game show "The Price Is Right."
Sixteen cars, 15 flat-screen televisions, furniture sets and other prizes are lined up at Bay Area Fellowship Church and ready to be claimed by anyone who attends the church's Easter services on Sunday.
