Israeli warplanes have carried out at least 13 air strikes on the Hamas-ruled Gaza Strip, Palestinian sources have told the BBC.
Four of the strikes took place near the town of Khan Younis, where two Israeli soldiers were killed in clashes with Palestinian fighters last week.
The Israeli strikes are the most serious for more than a year, says the BBC's Jon Donnison from Jerusalem.
Three children were reported slightly injured by flying debris.
The director of ambulance and emergency in the Palestinian Ministry of Health, Dr Muawiya Hassanein, said an infant was among the injured.
Witnesses and Hamas officials said the Israeli raids targeted metal workshops , farms, a milk factory and small sites belonging to the military wing of Hamas.
'Retaliation'
Palestinian news agencies reported that Israeli aircraft dropped leaflets over parts of Gaza on Thursday warning residents of retaliation for last Friday's killings of the soldiers in Khan Younis.

Can you believe they have the gall to print this crap? A milk factory and farms? Seems that every attack on Muslims hits at least one milk factory.
I was going to post that picture and then I almost spit my wine when I saw you posted it. It’s universal!
Obama is just a loyal globalist elite frontman. His puppeteers are hell-bent on spreading war in the Middle East and starting WWIII.
Hint: read my tagline and FR page.
A milk processing factory would be essentially a chemical plant. Not a good prospect about what else is processed there.

Former U.S. officer training Hamas military
GAZA CITY U.S. volunteers with military backgrounds have been recruited to help train the new Hamas army in the Gaza Strip.
Palestinian sources said one of the Americans was former U.S. Army captain Fares Al Ashi, Middle East Newsline reported.
“This information is important for the youth,” Al Ashi said during a briefing to visiting journalists in Gaza City.
The sources said Al Ashi, a specialist in explosives and weapons, had been trained in South Carolina during his years with the U.S. military.

U.S. general says training of Palestinian security ‘the most popular thing we do’
WASHINGTON The United States plans to expand the security infrastructure of the Palestinian Authority.
Officials said U.S. security coordinator Lt. Gen. Keith Dayton has drafted a plan that would construct PA security facilities over the next year. They said the project would begin under the $161 million allocation requested by the administration of President Barack Obama.
In a May 7 address to the Washington Institute, Dayton said the United States has focused on training and equipment for PA security forces, Middle East Newsline reported. He said a four-month training course was taking place at the Jordan International Police Training Center outside Amman. So far, three battalions, or about 1,500 cadets have graduated the course, with another battalion in training.

I’d rather see zero dead children. I’d rather the place be blown to hell so that no organic matter is left to find.
Bibi is severly yanking Obama's chain, and its just getting started, They don't give a sweet Eff about Obama, who is useless, an international laughing stock.
The uzzlims are manufacturing milk? Right. What a bunch of dumb ass nimrods! ROFLMAO!
Personally I hope that Israeli Air Force bombs Gaza into the stone age and doesn't leave one brick remaining on top of another brick.
Go Israel!!! Bomb these bastard uzzlims into the stone age! Lord God Jehovah be with you!
Yedidim of Israel
.
Still, it’s zero dead children right now (I think), and, concluding from the report, a great accuracy rate on hotspot targets. The goal right now has to be tearing apart Hamas et. al. capability, not a kills count.
I would not equate or confuse the two reports as being a US government sponsored enterprise. The one in 2008 sounds like a ‘rogue element’ of arab americans who left our military to assist the Pali jihad. The other however, is a clear intention of our new ‘rogue’ leader..Barack Hussein Obama.
Everyday..we awake to another treasonous and/or national self destructive act by our own President. It’s so frightening, I sometimes am tempted to tune it all out..but there it is..staring this country in the face day after day. An enemy of freedom and prosperity is living in the WH.
If we do not succeed, things will get very ugly in America,IMHO.
Exactly - or in this case, ...”Children and infants hit hardest”
Seig Heil Mein Fuhrer! Seig Heil!
Agree. I sometimes feel like a spectator living in Texas where conservatism is the norm in my parts..hence my efforts are not needed on this front. I told my husband tonight that we should plan our vacation to go to some district in another state where we are needed to unseat a blue dog or something.
It’s all hands on deck folks. It’s truly make or break time for our country.
BBC or CNN always have to add the “slightly injured children” whenever the IDF responds to terrorist attacks.
“Three children were reported slightly injured...The director of ambulance and emergency in the Palestinian Ministry of Health, Dr Muawiya Hassanein, said an infant was among the injured.”
Typical Joos. Targeting children and babies.
I mean did Hamas write the story for the BBC?
“Witnesses and Hamas officials said the Israeli raids targeted metal workshops , farms, a milk factory and small sites belonging to the military wing of Hamas.”
Isn’t there anyone objective on the ground to corroborate this stuff?
Calling Hamas plants witnesses? Nuts.
three puppies also had trouble keeping their food down after the raid and were seen eating grass
The milk factories are warm and it attracts the missiles and bombs.
Of course, there will be no milk for the children.
