Study: Dems watch more TV, Republicans more sports

A new study says Democrats watch more TV, but dedicated sports fans are more likely to vote for Republican candidates.

The survey, from National Media Inc. using data from Nielsen and Arbitron, concludes that media buyers looking to target conservative viewers should dedicate ad dollars to sports telecasts -- particularly, the PGA Tour, college football and NASCAR. Of the 26 sports surveyed, 14 skewed Republican.

"The average TV show will deliver 15-25% more Democrats compared to Republicans," said Will Feltus, senior vp of research at National Media, which specializes in buying ads for GOP clients. "The moral to the story is that it's harder to find Republican viewers and sports is good place to find them."

Most TV formats have largely audiences that consist mostly of Democrats, according to the study, with left-leaning viewers dominating genres like local news, late-night talk shows, primetime dramas and comedies.

The big take away from this is that the bigggest viewers of network News are Republicans. This is one spot they dominate. Treating us like they are doing could well be their downfall. I wonder why they are not watching Fox and why they are watching the network bustards.

Yeah, of course, the validity of this study is what, exactly? Apparently, this must be why FOXNews has such high viewership numbers than the libtard news outlets, huh? =.=

Actually Fox is watched by 2 million people during the everning hours.the MSM network news broad casts are usually watched by 20 million plus people. If we Republicans would stop being so tolerant of opposing points of view they would stop watching the nets and really make fox ratings huge.

No surprise here - Democrats have always preferred to live in a fantasy world.

Yes, and it’s documented that conservatives buy more advertised products than liberal lefties, who want everything for free.

Same here, except the only baseball I watch is the world serious.

So...DIMs watch media steeped in fantasy, and Repubs watch media steeped in reality? Is anyone else here as unsurprised as I am?

Me either but I don’t watch the blather on the networks either.

My liberal, atheist brother LOVES network TV, his life revolves around it.

I am usually surfing the net, exersizing, or having a conversation with my husband in the evenings.

Demographically, we know more men than women vote Republican and we know more men than women watch sports. So, it stands to reason more sports viewers are Republicans.

I’m sure more Democrats watch Dancing With The Stars and American Idol.
