Sarah Palin is throwing her support behind a key endorser of Republican Congressional Candidate Will Breazeale. On Tuesday, Palin gave her endorsement of the Combat Veterans for Congress Political Action Committee. The group, dedicated to soldiers with "Embedded Integrity," has issued unwavering support for Breazeale in the North Carolina District 7 Primary. This included holding a fundraiser for him in February.
Palin stated, "There are a number of great veteran candidates running for office this year, and there are some excellent organizations dedicated to helping them, including Combat Veterans for Congress. I believe that these great veterans will fight for us in D.C. to uphold and defend our Constitution as courageously in the halls of Congress as they did on the field of battle."
"I was so honored that Governor Palin chose to endorse Combat Veterans for Congress," observed Breazeale. "If anyone knows anything about embedded integrity, it is Sarah Palin. For her to stand with a group that has so emphatically stood with our campaign, is truly touching."

It’s great that vets are showing up to run for office (I’m all for it), and its great that Sarah is supporting the concept (I’m all for it), but in EACH CASE we have to do our own vetting as it were and make sure these vets are CONSERVATIVE, PRO-AMERICA candidates. Murtha and Kerry were vets too. When they first launched their campigns decades ago, many pulled their levers simply because they were vets.
Breazeale’s challenger only recent became a Republican.
I report, you decide.
Go to www.awilltowin.com to see if he deserves your support.
She only endorsed 3 so far in the group. I am sure she will continue to move down the list.
I think you are splitting hairs. Check this out. Here is Sarah’s full endorment.
American Heroes Ready and Willing to Serve in Congress
America, if you love your freedom, thank a vet! And if youre looking for leaders who believe in integrity, service, and country first, look to our veterans.
Last week I campaigned for a true American hero, John McCain, and this week Id ask you to join me in supporting a new generation of heroes who are heeding their countrys call for leadership in Washington.
There are a number of great veteran candidates running for office this year, and there are some excellent organizations dedicated to helping them, including: Iraq Vets for Congress and Combat Veterans for Congress (please click on the links to visit their websites).
There are three veterans in particular Ill be supporting this week.
The first is Major Vaughn Ward, a fourth-generation Idaho native who grew up on his familys farm in Shoshone and is running in Idahos 1st Congressional District. Coming from a family with a proud military tradition, Vaughn joined the Marine Corps after college and was finishing up his service when the September 11th attacks occurred. He put his life on hold and heeded his countrys call serving first as a CIA Operations Officer and later volunteering with the Marine Corps for a combat tour in Iraq, during which he was awarded the Bronze Star with Combat V. After returning from Iraq, Vaughn went to work for the McCain/Palin campaign. I was grateful for his support then, and Im happy to support him now because I know that he believes in the same commonsense conservative ideals that we cherish. Vaughn knows that real job growth comes from the private sector, not government. He believes in free market reforms, tax relief for families and small businesses, and a return to a constitutionally limited government that lives within its means. Hell carry the conservative banner to Washington and will rein in the reckless growth of government to get it back on our side. And remember, a vote for Vaughn is a vote to remove the gavel from Nancy Pelosis grip. Please visit Vaughns website here to make a donation to his campaign, and follow him on Facebook and Twitter.
The second veteran is Captain Adam Kinzinger, a decorated special-operations pilot who flew combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. Adam is running for Illinois 11th Congressional District against a freshman incumbent congresswoman who seemed to pull a bait and switch on voters to get elected. She sounded like a blue dog on the campaign trail, but didnt vote like one in Washington. Instead, she voted in lockstep with the Pelosi agenda on Obamacare, the stimulus, cap-and-tax and the list goes on. Shes part of the reason for Congress 11% approval rating. Adam is a strong fiscal conservative with a proven track record as a reformer from his years serving on his local county board. Adam started out in local office, and, like many of us, believes in making government more accountable to the people. When you serve in local office, your constituents truly are your neighbors. Adam understands this, and I know that he will listen to his constituents and work for us, not against us, in Washington. Please visit Adams website here to make a donation to his campaign, and follow him on Facebook and Twitter.
The third veteran is Lieutenant Colonel Allen West, a decorated war hero whos served with distinction in combat zones in Iraq and Afghanistan. Many of you may have heard of Allen from a speech he gave last year that became a viral video on YouTube with over 2 million viewers. Allens personal story is a testament to the commonsense conservative belief that our nations greatness is rooted in freedom, because with freedom comes equal opportunity, and that, coupled with hard work, leads to success. Allen is a small government fiscal conservative running against a leftwing ideologue whos marched to the beat of Nancy Pelosi on every issue from cap-and-tax to the stimulus, TARP, and, of course, Obamacare. Its time to send Allen to Washington in his place. Please visit Allens website here to donate to his campaign, and follow him on Facebook and Twitter.
I believe that these great veterans will fight for us in D.C. to uphold and defend our constitution as courageously in the halls of Congress as they did on the field of battle. Im so honored to offer my support to these American heroes, and I hope youll join me in helping them so that they can serve us all in Washington.
- Sarah Palin
Breazeale never said she endorsed him. He said he was pleased to see she supports a organization that has also endorsed him. She will endorse more from that list I suspect.
I can’t speak for anyone but myself, I strongly supported Palin before all of this - and there is no other candidate I am committed to now. But where I was pretty much committed to her before this - I am watching her now. She’s great, but I’m not ready to hitch my wagon to her at this point.
I think JD Hayworth needs all the help he can get, McCain is a formidable opponent and is not above doing ANYTHING to get reelected. JD could really use Sarah’s help RIGHT NOW. Not after the primary.
So now she endorses a conservative organization.
Is this to average out the liberal endorsement of McLame and Rand Paul?
Uh, what have you been smoking?
Each of those endorsements, along with the endorsees, were derided at that time. Including Hunter and Tancredo.
Aren’t there enough relevant threads for you guys to talk about the Arizona race, or must you hijack every thread that is related to Palin’s national efforts, such as this one?
It is squelching the ability for freerepublic to keep up with news other than the already known, and endlessly whined about, McCain endorsement.
If you are at war against Palin and are hijacking threads for that reason then be more open about it, but one impossible to avoid endorsement is not exactly the end of the world for our leading conservative representative and most effective national movement, conservative politician.
Well then, you didn’t read my hijack properly.
I mentioned both McLame and Rand Paul. Not just one “impossible to avoid” endorsement.
Understand?
So you admit that your intention is to hijack threads as part of your war against Palin
—their dislike for her did not start with that endorsement, not will it end with her next great speech at a TEA Party or standing room only town hall.-—
I think you’re on to something there...
Not at all. That was your word.
I read your post 31 as a doubling down, that yes, you did want to hijack the thread and turn it away from this conservative news to the Arizona race and evidently the Kentucky race also if that is needed to get this thread totally away from it’s topic.
This thread was not about McCain and your dislike for Palin’s endorsement for him, nor is it about Rand Paul. This thread is about Palin’s endorsement of a Combat Vets for Congress and about a good conservative vet needing our support.
I suggest you go back to the other bash Palin threads and let the conservative news and issues be spoken about on this one. Do us a solid on this one
Thanks
I suggest you re-read my original post before speaking.
I said she was endorsing a conservative organization with this one, unlike her other endorsements.
That is a positive for her.
No one in the GOP has done more to fight Barack Obama and battle for conservative principles than Sarah Palin. Yet, she is constantly attacked by the left, RINOs and small-minded people with too much time on their hands.
For what it's worth, I support Hayworth. But, it happened. It's over. It's time to move on.
I didn’t think it was splitting hairs. She mentioned 3 specific candidates — they were the ones who got endorsed. She mentioned organizations that we should support.
It doesn’t mean that she explicitly endorses all the candidates supported by those organizations. Braezel doesn’t say it does, but his “Palin endorsed my supporter” is certainly meant to leave the impression that Palin is endorsing him, without actually saying it.
