Pammie closes in (Pamela Anderson and the seal harvest)

Wherever does Pamela Anderson find the time?

You’d think competing her tush off on Dancing With The Stars and hawking her “Malibu Pink” perfume and “veggan boots” would keep her busy enough.

Now, in her ongoing quest to kill off the Canadian seal hunt, Pammie’s turned serious investigator, filing a series of access to information requests in an effort to prove the industry costs taxpayers money.

Anderson is obviously frustrated that a great hue and cry didn’t go up from coast to coast demanding an end to the harvest when she first embraced the cause.

An international campaign against the seal hunt has been extremely effective, resulting in an EU ban on East Coast seal products.

Despite this, most Canadians have refused to be horn-swoggled by misinformation spread by the likes of Anderson, Paul McCartney and his ex and Brigitte Bardot.

Gov.-Gen. Michaelle Jean chowed down on raw seal heart during a visit to the Arctic, an event which earned her the real, if astonished, admiration of Canadians.

When seal was served in the parliamentary restaurant, MPs from all parties showed up for a taste and a photo-op.

Canadians mostly refuse to buy into the myths surrounding the annual hunt, which provides part-time employment for about 6,000 people.

Harp seals are not endangered. In fact, the population is at its highest level in 30 years — an increase of several million animals, according to Fisheries and Oceans.

Harvesting of those adorable baby seals has been outlawed since 1987.

The ongoing public and political support for the seal hunt is apparently behind this attempt by PETA — assisted by Anderson — to persuade Canadians their tax dollars are going down the drain.

“It’s no longer an issue of concern just for animal advocates but for any Canadian disgusted by government waste,” Anderson told The Canadian Press. “And for the many Canadians who travel abroad, like me, it’s a huge embarrassment.”

Anderson, who hails from Ladysmith on Vancouver Island, should know most Canadians aren’t so gullible.

The seal hunt isn’t pretty, but neither is what goes on in meat-packing plants in communities around the globe.

Besides, we’re a tolerant lot. Pamela’s no stranger to the skin trade herself, but Canadians don’t get red-faced about the ongoing sexcapades of the former Playboy playmate and Baywatch actress.

We’re not about to be intimidated by international pooh-poohing that’s fired up by falsehoods and half-truths

Even though we’ve become an increasingly urban society, we remain close enough to our heritage to understand that hunting and fishing for food and to earn a livelihood are honourable occupations.

The Access to Information requests are an attempt to unearth evidence the seal hunt brings in less revenue than the government spends defending it and promoting seal products overseas.

Ironically, Fisheries Minister Gail Shea suggests the diminishing income earned by the hunters is due in large part to PETA’s longstanding “misinformation” campaign that led to the European ban.

Now PETA’s moving in for the kill.

If they succeed in destroying a significant income source for people living in coastal communities, it will likely draw applause from arrogant Europeans and misinformed animal lovers.

And, Anderson will have a little more time to flog her personally signed “Pammie” footwear, made without animal products, at $359 a pop.

Watch the dancing with the stars video on YouTube. She’s still hot.

The pictures where she looks so rough have been photoshopped to make her look terrible.

"Killing baby seals is barbaric"

Killing baby seals (aka "White Coats") was banned in 1987.

OTOH Lamb and veal are still legal. Lamb is baby sheep slaughtered between 6 to 8 weeks of age and veal is baby cattle slaughtered between 1 to 3 months of age, Both are slaughtered by means that are less humane than that used to kill seals.

Not Hep A, deadly Hep C. Let the bimbo have her fun. She’ll be dead before 2020. Well, assuming with all her wealth she can’t swap in a new liver every couple of years.

Haven’t you learned by now, the more cute the animal, the more violent the PETA supporters act.

Cute animals = killing is a crime

Ugly animals like fish = fair game

All they care is how cute the animal is. Don’t kill bambi.
