Personally, would not recommend direct confrontation - on a roadway. . .and alone, for sure; but am wondering if your friend is following up on this - from Sheriff's office and/or from H.S. for that matter. Would check to see if phone not tapped; and other possible privacy assaults against him or others. (Some militia's around this area?)

Well now. Everyone still think the formation of The Department of Homeland Security was a grand idea? To those who thought it was and only now realize the potentials for abuses? WE TOLD YOU SO! We were called Foilers, Kooks, for the terrorist, etc because it was a GOP idea and some of us spoke out against it.

Always think about and consider seriously who will be in office next term before you ever support any new government idea or new programs. No matter how good it sounds give it long hard consideration well beyond an automatic party loyalty yes. What you support today may possibly be used against you tomorrow in ways you never considered.

DHS was a political favors make a gravy position for friends created department and a real bad idea from day one which has only gotten worse with age. We had agencies independent of each other who handled the jobs which lessened the potential for abuses of powers by a strong central authoritarian agency.

To the few but faithful GOP Congressmen who voted against DHS and the The Patriot Act a big thank you for standing up for our freedoms and rights. Homeland Security should be a well armed people in their private homes. For 200 years enemy nations have feared attacking us on our own soil in a ground assault because of this.

Folks, you have to admit that we are a pretty disorganized bunch of patriotic rabble. Taking down dissenters wouldn’t be that difficult with all the resources that the jackboots could bring to bear.

For example — What if they took note of anybody making nasty comments on Free Republic, crosschecked that at the state level against any gun purchases made by the foul miscreant (you), and used that to charge “seditious conspiracy” and obtain a search warrant and otherwise ruin your life? And that’s just one example of how you could be supremely hassled.

Hopefully the case would be thrown out of court but by then you’d be saddled with a damaged reputation, huge legal costs, trouble getting your property back and all manner of other difficulties.

This is a great time to be paranoid, for those so inclined ... lol

If you have a website for your business, go check the visitors. You might be surprised how many times you have visits from dhs.gov. I certainly was. I hope they’re on the job for a “good” reason, but it does make me nervous when I see those visits.

What your friend has is a suspicious incident.

Have him report it to the local Sheriff.
