Here’s a question for the legal FReepes. Can the target of A Congressional subpoena obtain a court order to have the subpoena quashed?

He better schedule a big room. There are a lot of companies releasing those charges.

Alan Colmes on Hannity was complaining these companies didn’t oppose Obamacare during the debate on the bill

1 All the more reason their financial reports are credible.

2 If the democrats had held a single HEARING with witnesses who would be affected by Obamacare, then maybe we would have learned all this stuff in advance.

I’m fairly certain that these companies are following the prescribed accounting rules as required by the Sarbanes-Oxley legislation that grew out of the Enron scandal. I think the CEO’s ought to release their calculations to the media (like the wall Street Journal or Investors Business Daily, not the NY Times or Washington Post) before Nostrils-Dumbass has a chance to cherry-pick the questions and cut the responses off on the stand.

“Fascism” is such an ugly word.

We prefer “serving the public.” :)

I hope that they would all walk into the room and claim the 5th and walk out.

I know they won’t but one can always hope.

Waxman maintains his interest is ensuring the bill “does not have unintended consequences.”

Snort! EVERYTHING Congress does has unintended consequences.

It’s typical pedophile crucifiction tactic: isolate an executive, threaten him of hypocrisy, and test if he is going to comply with the corruption or would rather die.

It’s testing without scruple, in total disgusting impunity.

The coup is almost complete, our government is nothing but a bunch of tyrants. Anarchy will follow if they don’t back off.

Mr Waxman,

We never said anything before because You and your Fellow Congressman LIED to us about what was in the Legislation That You nor Anybody EVER READ, We were not allowed to read it, til after it Passed. Now that we see what is actually in the legislation as opposed to the LIES we were told BY YOU and YOUR FELLOW MEMBERS OF CONGRESS, we have discovered it will cost us a bundle and we will probably Fire EVERYBODY and Close our doors tomorrow. Good luck with your new Health Care Plan.

What a criminal abuse of power. Republicans should make an issue of this. The companies are just following the law and now they’re being targeted for doing so by the fascists.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely... and Waxman and Pelosi both in their so-called safe districts are perfect proof.

Boeing taking charge on health care law, too

Published on March 31, 2010 8:16 AM
By Julie Wernau | Boeing Wednesday joined a list of companies that have taken accounting charges because of recent health care legislation.

The Chicago-based company said it will recognize an income tax charge of about $150 million and that beginning in 2013, it will no longer be able to claim an income tax deduction for prescription drug benefits for retirees reimbursed under Medicare Part D’s drug subsidy program. The charge is expected to reduce Boeing’s net earnings by 20 cents per share in the first quarter of 2010.
