Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele "allowed a certain climate to exist" that resulted in the committee paying for a now infamous visit to a Los Angeles strip club, a senior RNC committeeman told Fox News.
Steele's critics point to the strip club story as another in a series of controversies in which his leadership has been found wanting. The chairman's office has rejected such flak as unwarranted by the facts in the case. RNC spokesman Doug Heye also points out that Steele was not at Voyeur, did not have any knowledge of the expenditure and finds the use of committee funds at such a location unacceptable.
Publicly filed documents revealed this week that a Republican donor, Erik Brown, had been permitted to charge the RNC for a $1,946 visit last February to the Los Angeles strip club Voyeur. In response to the disclosure, the RNC Tuesday fired staffer Allison Meyers, the director of the committee's "Young Eagles" program. It was Meyers who turned in the receipt as an expense...
Steele also controversially said on a cable talk show he thought some Republicans were "afraid of black people"...
"For the first time I can remember, we have less cash on hand than the Democrats, and that's the real crime here, we should be spending our money more wisely." said one well placed Republican source....

Our black guy is just as inept as their black guy.
Steele must go.
I saw him today at lunch here in SF.
It’s one thing that this guy is pretty much a RINO, “let’s not offend anyone.” But his managerial incompetence is pretty stunning. And this is the time we need someone at the helm who knows how to put up his dukes and FIGHT.
I keep telling the RNC when it calls for donations: “Call me when Steele has been replaced with someone competent; until then my money will only be wasted”.
But Our Guy is just inept! Their Guy is Inept, Crookrd, A Compulsive Liar and Con-Artist, an Avowed Communist, a Crimnal Thug, a Complete Fraud whose Entire backround and History Disappeared, and he is a Muslim Terrorist out to destroy the Infidels! Other than those minor differences, You are pretty much correct!........:-) Oh, Well!
More managerial incompetence here:

not really cool to go all racist on FR, but if you want to compare skin color I’d use Clarence Thomas as our example. Steel really isn’t one of us.
Steele was a recruiting error. I didn’t see it coming either. He seemed fine from what I saw of him on TV.
When Steele eventually goes, and he will, I predict he will (1) whine about racism, (2) becomes even more supportive of the Dems, and (3) write a book about the “far right wing wackos such as Tea Partiers”” taking over the GOP.
What you want to bet that Allison Meyers had no idea what this expense was.
It’s time to unload Steele. He is out of step with mainstream traditional Republicans.
LOL. Not the best “wild kingdom” encounter.
He was trounced by Shep Smith on FNC last week. Just dominated on the subject they were talking about. He came off very weak.
“eventually goes, and he will, I predict he will (1)....”
4. become dhimmi-crat
We got a black guy? Last I looked we had all ex-dem’s - not a conservative in the group I can count.
Racist my ass. The only reason he was appointed was to serve as a foil to Obama, and we’re not allowed to note that point? Don’t go all PC on us FRiend.
LOL! Yes.
And our black guy was elected for the same reason as their black guy. And no, it had nothing to do with competence for the job or experience, and a lot to do with skin color.
