ZAPATA - Zapata County Sheriff Sigifredo Gonzalez Jr. says a Mexican Military Helicopter was seen crossing into U.S. airspace around 3:30 Sunday afternoon.
A number of witnesses including a justice of the peace reported the helicopter as it hovered over Zapata County.
The witnesses say the helicopter was flying pretty low.
This is the second time this month a Mexican Military helicopter has crossed into South Texas. The first was a over Falcon Heights, about 14 miles from Roma.
Witnesses there say the chopper hovered over a home that used to belong to a drug dealer before flying back to Mexico.
U.S. officials are now trying to determine why the helicopter entered our airspace.
That's what I'm thinking - they were probably coming after one of their drug thugs and that's okay - come and get them - take 'em back on your side of the fence....just let us know what you're doing.
If we catch them on our side, we have to pay for room and board - I'd just as soon you come over and retrieve.
If we catch 'em, we get to keep 'em (or maybe we can give them back but I'm sure it's a long involved process).
I'm no big fan of the invasion from the south but I'm okay with this.
If my trash blows into someone else's yard, I pick it up anyway - it's still my trash.
Not like they couldn’t see the *BORDER*.
Aren’t we buying them a bunch of choppers?
Shoot the damned thing down, then if somehow there happens to be a single survivor, ask him why the mexican military has chosen to violate American airspace.
that is what .50 caliber rifles are for...
It is known that the helicopter was not in radio contact with applicable American Agencies?
