VAN SUSTEREN: Governor Palin, if you were vice president today, what would you be telling a President McCain about what to do about immigration, if anything?
PALIN: I support his position on immigration. It all comes down to securing the border. And he who has actually proposed some solutions, the Obama administration does not want to listen to Senator McCain or any other Republican, and that, of course, leads to a greater problem that we have in Washington, D.C. And it's that lack of the new administration's ability and enthusiasm for listening to those on the other side of the aisle who have some good solutions that they want considered.

Exactly. Just read PAST the quote that rabs highlights. It looks like Palin might misunderstand McCains position on immigration. Ive heard her say that she is against amnesty.
I do wish that she would consider her debt to McCain paid and move on - AWAY from him.
But Im not going to buy into the Paul cults attempts to distort her positions, either.

JMJ. This gets old. I saw the Greta interview.
McCain himself told Hildy last night “in person” NO AMNESTY. This is an election year and he has JD for a primary challenger, duh. No Republican is going to be for amnesty “this election year.” Not even Lindsey Graham.
Sarah Palin is not for amnesty and on Greta’s show she agreed with his stated positions and Greta quickly moved on to another topic.
Sarah can make her position crystal clear for those who have questions when she decides whether she wants to seek elected office.
I have heard her state that she is against amnesty for illegals.
And I’m quoting her very words. This is the second one.
The Rush interview.
http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_111709/content/01125120.guest.html
“RUSH: Thirty seconds: Immigration. Can you do it in 30 seconds before we have to go?
GOV. PALIN: I can’t do it in 30 seconds but just know that... You know, let me put it simply: Illegal immigrants are called “illegal” for a reason. We need to crack down on this. We need to listen to the border states where the governors there have some solutions and we need to get serious about that.”
Truth does not matter, onyx. Apparently. Two quotes, with links, I’ve put up with Sarah in her own words.
Oh, do not forget.....McCain also supports closing GITMO and civilian trials for Islamic Terrorists tied to 9/11
Terrorist Amnesty....
“Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 or 13 million undocumented immigrants?
No, I do not. I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules. They’ve got to follow the bar, and we have got to make sure that there is equal opportunity and those who are here legally should be first in line for services being provided and those opportunities that this great country provides.
To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?
I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country. “
There, that’s not selective at all. The above should clear it up... errr maybe not.
Not TOTAL amnesty anyway. Just John McCain’s style of it? Stumping for McCain gives her less leeway period.
As for gotcha, I like to know the actual position a person that wants to be a leader has. People can change their minds without ‘waffling’, if it is actually a true to heart change of perspective. So I’m not being selective or trying to ‘catch’ her. I am watching her very closely because so many people hang their hope on her. I have serious doubts, but I would still support her against any Democrat.
“PALIN: I support his position on immigration.”
Which one, Sarah, his reelection year position, or his real position?
Oh well, I liked her for awhile.
McCain has been and is in favor of amnesty. He is the poster child for it. Nothing has changed.
Then why is Graham co-sponsoring and championing the Graham-Schumer immigration bill, which is essentially a carbon copy of the McCain-Kennedy immigration bill (i.e., amnesty)?
I was just pinged to this thread, so I checked your forum posts. You posted the two direct quotes (with links) from Sarah Palin herself.
I have no problem with her statement to Greta either. She merely agreed with what he stated on Greta's program.
We're not talking about an inquisition here. Well, some are, but that's called the blood sport of trying to take down Sarah Palin.
That’s right. Just ignore the two quotes I put up. Believe what you want.
I read it. I just made my mind up. I will never vote for John’s puppet the former governor of Alaska. As near as I can tell she has a popularity addiction it seems and is NOT good POTUS material. A POTUS we need will if need be have the courage to tell even members of their own party they are wrong and explain why. She seems to lack this quality. Next candidate please.
I’m glad we have several more years so maybe her popularity tours will run it’s course and a really needed more disciplined Conservative step up for the job. I had not made up my mind till reading this and now my mind is indeed made up.
Her apologetics for McCain stands in the way of a needed replacement. She is doing Conservatism nor herself no favors in supporting McCain and endorsing even going as far as promoting his pathetic record as being good. Sellout John never met a liberal deal he didn’t like. I suspect by this she would if elected do much the same as well.
More and more.....most conservatives are coming to this position on Palin.
As for owing MCCain a favor.....if it was not for Palin, McCain would have been a 50 state loser. McCain OWES PALIN a favor....and its not to support the liberal over the conservative in the AZ senate primary
“Selective.
...if theyre not going to follow the rules, they need to get out.”
BTW, where was this quote in the article that thread & my quote was taken from?
I read it a few times and just can’t seem to find it?
Dishonest at best.
Sarah said, “I agree with John on this, it’s all about securing the border” (paraphrased quote)
She didn’t at any point mention granting anyone amnesty
Shhhhh! We can’t talk about the truth. They’re hunting Sawah.
