VAN SUSTEREN: Governor Palin, if you were vice president today, what would you be telling a President McCain about what to do about immigration, if anything?
PALIN: I support his position on immigration. It all comes down to securing the border. And he who has actually proposed some solutions, the Obama administration does not want to listen to Senator McCain or any other Republican, and that, of course, leads to a greater problem that we have in Washington, D.C. And it's that lack of the new administration's ability and enthusiasm for listening to those on the other side of the aisle who have some good solutions that they want considered.

Good statement there. She does need to clarify. The jury is still out.
On the day that Obama threatens to take down a potential Romney run for the presidency by claiming Obamacare is no different than Romneycare, we try to take out another Republican candidate? Who do you folks want to lead us into the next election against Obama? Ron Paul?
Q: Should undocumented immigrants all should be deported?
A: There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant—there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants—not only economically is that just an impossibility but that's not a humane way anyway to deal with the issue.
Q: Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 million undocumented immigrants?
A: No, I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules. We have got to make sure that there is equal opportunity and those who are here legally should be first in line for services being provided and those opportunities that this great country provides.
Q: So you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?
A: I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country. Source: Univision Interview with Sarah Palin, by Jorge Ramos Oct 26, 2008

I'm very suspect of the last quote. Anybody got a YouTube clip of it?
Whole F'ing problem, right there... Without that there wouldn't be any of these threads.
McCain is TOXIC and needs to be dumped.
She’s absolutely, flat out wrong on this.
McCain has ALWAYS been pro-amnesty.
Sarah, I support you on just about every issue you stand for, however, amnesty is not one of them. And it’s a BIG “not one of them”. I suggest some education on the issue and not just what Juan McCain is feeding you.
Selective.
“...if they’re not going to follow the rules, they need to get out.”
I guess you didn’t read that part. But, I forgot, this is the Palin ‘gotcha’ thread. Truth is not important. Bring on Mitt!!!
Amnesty
Since Palin supports McCain’s position on immigration, I will NOT support her for any elective office.
Exactly. Just read PAST the quote that rabs highlights. It looks like Palin might misunderstand McCain’s position on immigration. I’ve heard her say that she is against amnesty.
I do wish that she would consider her debt to McCain paid and move on - AWAY from him.
But I’m not going to buy into the Paul cult’s attempts to distort her positions, either.
Craig? He’s the bathroom dude.
She was supporting what he had just finished saying on stage, “Secure the border first.”
Palin is THE leading voice against the Obama agenda. She has done more than any person on the face of the earth to rally opposition to Obama and his administration. She is “target #1” for Obama and his attack dogs; yet, you are a 1-trick pony who attacks her as well any chance you get.
Palin supports John McCain and Lindsey Graham.....who AID and ABETT the Obama Agenda every day. Supporting McCain and Graham tells me Sarah Palin actively supports the Obama Agenda everyday.
Sarah Palin is supporting the Liberal...not the Conservative...in the AZ GOP Senate primary race.
No way. No guest workers. Look at Germany ... they never went home and now they are a BIG problem. I say, no slave labor here. Let the free market determine what we have to pay Americans to do American jobs. If the cost of your strawberries, or yard work, or whatever, goes up, it goes up to pay honest wages to American citizens — so be it.
It is even more important these days ... with our unemployment rate, if we didn't have infinite unemployment benefits, I'd wager we could fill the jobs left by deported illegals.
Secure the borders. Send the illegals home. There is a path to citizenship ... it's call LEGAL immigration.
It sounds like a rather artful answer. She is campaigning for McCain, so of course she says she supports his position. Then she takes the step of defining his position for him, the one she says she accepts, which is to secure the border. Now, we know from the past that he was not in favor of securing the border. He may be this week, since he is running for office. She isn’t backing the pro-amnesty McCain, she’s backing the McCain who supposedly supports securing the border. I’m not sure he exists, but thats the position she is claiming. The onus is on him now; she has put him in a position of having to accept her view.
But you did not highlight: It all comes down to securing the border. And he who has actually proposed some solutions...
If Sarah Palin thinks John McCain has done anything to secure the border....maybe she needs to see if Obama is hiring. McCain has been like a Matador in a bull ring....without the stab stick....in regard to Border Security
Sarah Palin supports Illegal Alien Amnesty and Open Borders. If you hemm and haw...give conflicting statements on the issue.....you support Amnesty and Open Borders
We are foruunate that Alaska borders Canada, and not Mexico.....
Misunderstand? What's there to misunderstand, unless she's been living under a rock these past few years and hasn't bothered to pick up a newspaper or read the news online?
Ive heard her say that she is against amnesty.
McCain also claims that he is against amnesty, yet his actions contradict his words.
But Im not going to buy into the Paul cults attempts to distort her positions, either.
"Distort" her positions? LOL! By what...directly quoting her very words?
This week.
