Y’know, it’s only the ones over 40 that can recall how evil the Soviets were/are. (and get the gallows humor.)
Back in the 60’s the motto was “Never trust anyone over 30.”
And who were those people? Those who had lived thru the Depression, fought in WW2 and had a deep sense of American exceptionalism and love for the country.
Hmmmmmm.......

The soviets are moving away from communism..they think we are nuts. These commies are American crooks getting rich and gaining power off an old...really old evil scheme.

Any of you guys ever see the movie “Moscow on the Hudson”?
I’m getting the urge to see it again.

I love when Williams character is sent to the grocery store and goes into a catatonic state from all the choice. LOL!
The first half of the film really conveys the bleakness that was the Soviet Union.

Robin Williams film from the 80’s when defection was all the rage with the Soviets. ; )
Williams does a decent Ruskie, imo. Even learned Russian for the part (the first half of the movie is subtitled.)

I don’t know if I can still laugh at it though. The more I think about the attack on property owners and the way they are really going after their phantom evil bourgeoisie to pay the richest proletariat in the history of the world..it frightens me. The odd thing is..the people pushing all this are getting rich themselves and giving up nothing. Why can people not see this?

LOL! I just heard a plaintive cry from my room, (my eldest is resting in my bed- mom’s bed is always best when you’re sick!)
It was :”Get off my TV!!!!”
Obama must be giving ANOTHER speech.
