All these media types who boycott Beck, did so right after the Bum was elected and he had approval around 60-70%. Now hes down around 45 and they will come back since they dont view criticism of the fearless leader as detrimental to their company’s image. Beck’s ratings are around 5x the size of Matthews at the same time slot, 11x HNN and 3x CNN.

Folks like the Dialy Kos have been trying to bring Beck down with advertiser boycotss for almost three years now. Guess it ain’t working all that well.

oh and when little Howie mentions Beck having only 387,000 viewers on CNN (headline news at that), It still was more than Anderson Cooper or Nancy Grace or any of their other news shows were getting. NO ONE watches CNN anymore

Ad revenue is based strictly on numbers, not on the opinion of some FOX staffers that think they could charge more if Beck was well liked.

FOX will stay with Beck as long as Beck delivers the numbers, when he fails at that, he {or any other pundit} is gone.

And with their plunging ratings, CNN is going to find it increasingly harder to charge the very high rates they are currently charging for a 30-second ad and for their Average Monthly Subscriber Fee. CNN’s revenues and profits can only go down with their slumping ratings, while Fox's continue to go up.

I worked in that business and the number 1 rate factor is numbers.

Advertisers tailor their message depending on the demographic mix of the audience.

That's why they sell candy and cereal on cartoon channels and crying towels and Depends on chrissey girl's show.
