Charlie Crist Gets Owned(!) by Rubio on Fox Debate - Now
Fox News ^

Live now on Fox

Rubio is framing the contrast very well. Excellent debate and criticism of Florida Governor Christie's support of the stimulus plan.

Rubio: "We need someone who can stand up to Obama"

Rubio on partisanship: "Lower the corporate tax, lower thwe capital gains tax, reduce the obstacles that make it increasingly hard to do business in America, and I'll be happy to cooperate....but what the Obama administration is attempting to do is fundamentally change America, and we can not cooperate on that."

WAIT a sec! Did Crist actually say he would have voted FOR the HEALTHCARE bill?

Yep, like I said, he's still got stars in his eyes for Obozo The Clown.

He also nixed two FPL fossil fuel power plants shortly after taking office. say’s no to drilling, and supports the ObamaExpress from Orlando to Tampa.. What a dweeb.

I just wish Jeb had run against Bill Nelson in 2006, maybe he will in 2012..

Can Jeb run for governor again in Fla?

“That he’s a RINO.......just like they are.”

Actually they’re not. There are very issues that Cornyn (the leader of the bunch that selected Crist) is RINO on. That’s also true for at least 75% of the Republican Senators...they generally vote good.

My thought is that Crist was considered “electable”, whereas Rubio was less known throughout the state.

But still...you have to draw the line at some point - if Crist would have voted for that health care monster, then it is MUCH BETTER to simply have a Democrat there...rather than give them that token Republican vote they so desperately wanted.

When a professional baseball team looks for players, they don’t go out looking for someone who is “streaky” or can’t be counted on to be swinging for the fence before every pitch. We shouldn’t be voting for representatives who try to get it right once in a while. Go for the park at every pitch.

The people in this country are waking up in a big way and are becoming very cogniscent in they have the power of term limits at the ballot box. This has never been more illustrative than the political climate today.

Question is when will the RNC and Sen Cornyn apologize to Rubio?

Crist spent the whole debate attacking Rubio, and left the viewers of Florida with no reason to vote for him. Crist even used his closing remarks to make a couple more attacks at Rubio. For his part, Rubio held up fine. Crist is toast.

actually Crist is still the Governor. The only thing he can do is attack Rubio on bank accounts he has and not defend himself against his support of Obamanomics.

This kind of statistic is meaningless. The question is, do they vote good when the vote is close. You would find an amazing tendency to bipartisanship by RINO’s when the vote is close and their vote actually matters.

The 75% is cover voting for the rubes back home. It is votes on bills that are already decided.

The Governor of FL is ‘term limited’ to two terms.

“The 75% is cover voting for the rubes back home. It is votes on bills that are already decided.”

I’m just making the point that these Senators tend to TOTALLY BLIND to how the future Senators (they support) will vote, as they support people like Crist (and Lincoln Chaffee...unreal), who appears to be even to the left of Snowe...yet those same Senators simply don’t vote that way.

If it makes you guys feel better, you can run around calling everyone a RINO who doesn’t get a 100% rating from the ACU - but there is NO WAY IN HELL that Alito, Roberts, and Thomas would be on the Court if it wasn’t for those 90% of the party that you call “RINOs”. You may not consider these votes like these important, but I sure do...and some
of those votes were very close.
So go vote 3rd party, if it somehow clears your conscience, and let your kids and grandkids try to clean up the mess that you’re leaving, by empowering even more Democrats.

I thought Christ was doing a poor vamp impression. . . the flaring Pelosi eyes, the pouty lips. What a riot. I have never seen him before and wonder how Floridians have stood him all this while. [shiver]

He came across as a bad joke - constantly attacking Rubio instead of answering Wallace’s questions. I thought Chris managed him pretty well.

Typical, just freakin' typical. Can't argue the point so just make up another one. Mole, troll or whatever you are. The message is clear. We won't ever buy into national party game plans again and will strive to make all politcs local. We are the term limiters, not them.

I saw the debate on Fox News Sunday. I was astounded to see Crist say on national television that he would have voted with Collins, Snowe, and Specter on the stimulus package. I can't believe anyone running in a Republican primary would say that!

Rubio was impressive. I don't live in Florida. If I did, I'd certainly vote for him.

Marco Rubio did a great job in the debate on Fox News Sunday this morning (and Crist gave me the creeps as usual), but I have one question for Florida FReepers (and other FReepers who may know):

WTH is going on with some Florida Tea Party groups who aren't warming up to Marco Rubio??? Specifically, WHAT is going on with those people in The Villages??

Are there "turf wars" or something going on with the Tea Party groups in Florida, and they've lost sight of The Big Picture?!
