We did it!
Yesterday's deadline for the passage of new legislation in the Illinois House of Representatives passed without HB6205, the Illinois FOCA bill, ever coming to the floor for a vote.
That means the bill is effectively dead for this year. All our prayers, phone calls and lobbying paid off.
Join me in celebrating this great pro-life victory -- all the more savory coming on the heals of our stinging defeat nationally over the pro-abortion health care bill.
Congress turned a deaf ear to the people, but here in Illinois legislators listened to us and decided against this radical, highly unpopular abortion expansion bill.
We still have some important battles down in Springfield this year, so expect me to call on you soon after Easter to get back on the phones and help pull all that pro-life muscle.
Meanwhile, let us offer a prayer of thanks to God for this victory -- HIS victory -- which in His Mercy He has given to us as we enter in to the solemnity of Holy Week. Glory to Him!
-- Eric
P.S. I really hope this victory in Illinois will be an encouragement to you. The pro-life side IS gaining, despite the Obamacare debacle. Take heart!

Some good news from my state, The Peoples Republik of Illinois? WOW!!!
Good news
See, we’re not all bad in Illinois!
{{{ducking}}}
Thanks for posting this.
No, all the really bad in Ill. are now in DC.

Prayer works!!! Praises to Him.
FOCA = Freedom Of Choice Act ...
Thank you.
The Freedom Of Choice Act
It basically eliminates all laws and restrictions against abortion and makes it legal for all 9 months. It’s truly a despicable piece of legislations that violates our Constitution and the sanctity of human life.
Excellent news! Woot!

Twins saved by clinic witness ministry
by Matt YonkeMarch 18th, 2010
This report comes from the front lines via stalwart activist Jerry Nickels (pictured below outside Planned Parenthood Aurora). Jerry and his wife Karen have been involved in pro-life efforts in Aurora since before Planned Parenthood came to town.
Good news for counselors and prayer partners. Today at 3:20 while Deacon Tom Hawksworth and I were praying and witnessing to life at the PP facility, a young woman pulled up and parked her SUV on the road next to us.
She exited and came over to inquire whether we had some literature that we could give herpresumably for someone she knew. Tom happily had a packet and proceeded to give her a couple of brochures.
Then she shared with us that a couple of years ago she had come to PP abortion minded and instead decided to choose life. She said that she gave birth to twins and just wanted to tell us that what we do does make a difference and wanted to encourage us to continue.
Judging from her attitude it was obvious that she cannot imagine life without her twins and that she is now a strong supporter of the pro-life cause.
Then, as quickly as that she turned around and left before we could ask her if it was due to a specific thing that was said by someone or if was the general presence of pro-lifers that helped her change her mind.
At any rate, we just have to know we are His instruments, and this reaffirms that the ministry outside of PP is helping to save (and change) lives.
Greatest Congradulations!...am certain God is smiling...in fact perhaps even cheering with the angels on High...imagine how many little ones will live. :)
