Two years ago, John McCain transformed Sarah Palin overnight from an obscure first-term Alaska governor into a national celebrity when he picked her as his vice presidential running mate.
Now Palin is repaying the favor, putting her prestige on the line in an effort to help the four-term Arizona senator overcome his toughest re-election challenge ever.
The two campaigned together Friday for the first time since they lost the presidential race in 2008.
At the first of two rallies this weekend, Palin pumped up Tea Partiers, invoking the cause of the first Tea Party in 1773.
"Remember it was the Freedom Fighters and those who protested tyranny and big government," she said. "And that's what we're doing today."
"And when you think about that first Tea Party, shoot, some may claim that John was there, at the first Tea Party," she said with a laugh, poking fun at McCain's age. McCain, who is 73, grinned widely beside her.

Yea, but I don’t see how she avoids it. I think voting for McKook was the hardest thing I ever did in the voting booth, but I still don’t see how she turns her back on him. We wouldn’t even know her name if he had not had the good sense to pick her.
Still, it may disqualify her.
So where were you on these other endorsements?
Tancredo endorsed Romney
DeMint endorsed Romney
Hunter endorsed Huckabee
Thompson endorsed McCain
Gingrich endorsed Scozzafava
Pawlenty endorsed McCain
You have a lot of names to cross of your list if you go by endorsements alone.
The only hypocrites on this forum are SJB, you, and the other Palin bashers.
If judgment is to be had, it will ultimately come down on y'all for some of the things that have been said and are being said on this forum lately.
The equate that crowd as solely belonging to Palin is not at all honest of you.
You can bet that many there are also angered at the fact that Palin brought RINO McNasty into the movement as a hero and member of the movement.
The results of this will show later on, you can be sure.
I don’t do credit thank you, I am debt free.
I ‘ll be glad when she gets back to her punditry and reality series circuit, and let some real conservatives fight for 2012.
Then why don't you ask Jim himself when he gets back.
?
Good point anton. I do think she owes him a debt of graditude, but the love fest this weekend was nauseating. I am not good at html, and couldn’t get the link to work, but I think every FReeper should watch the interview with McCain and Palin from Friday night.
The Palin haters are gonna believe what they want to, thats fine by me. Sarah is campaigning for McCain for loyalty and obligation, that is all. She isnt putting a gun to anyones head in Arizona, if they dont want McLame they can throw his ass out, if they dont, its their problem, not Sarahs. Once this campaign fundraiser thing of his is done her obligation to him is over
Sorry to break it to you, bub, but Sarah has a full slate of Tea Party events and speaking engagements slated on her schedule. She's not going anywhere anytime soon.
You support people like Chuck Baldwin but not Paul? That doesn't make any sense.
Why do Sarahbots...
Instead of namecalling, why don't you simply answer the question? It is a simple hypothetical. You pal psycho-freep was afraid to answer that question as well.
We all understand that Jim supports Palin right now. We also know Mr. Robinson values good debate, and differences of opinion in FR. On the other hand I also hope Jim also watches the Friday Greta interview too, and we get his take.
Luckily, we arrived early in the morning so parking was still available.
In the real world, we met people that had come from all over.
The small number of Palin haters on FR will eventually incur the ire of that determined man who entered the Tea Party in his powerchair and they will have no one to blame but themselves.
Side note: we saw people of all ages yesterday....including several who overcame the rocky terrain in wheelchairs....to see Sarah Palin and support what she was there for. The Palin Haters need to get out from their keyboards more and see what's going on in the real world!
Tell that to JD, as he pulls the knife out of his back.
Were you there???
I was. After Sarah spoke, more than 1/2 of the people left.
That crowd was there to hear Sarah, make no mistake about it!
Cha ching....
Most of us do not “hate” her. We simply no longer support her as a candidate. As a person, she is a rare find. I have the utmost respect for her. The media has been ruthless towards her as well. But as a candidate for President, she will have to rebuild our trust from several mistakes she has recently made. (Don't bother demanding a list, you already know what they are.)
Time will tell as to who is right, so I will hold my final opinion of her until that happens.
Flame baiting on this forum will not buy anyone support. It only alienates the Forum as a whole. We are all guilty of it from time to time, but there are those here who do only that. Simply because they demand all others here, to agree with them or else.
