I’ve gotten several answers like that ... what I was looking for was this editorial that laid it out pretty good. Not saying that the statements here are bad, but someone wrote a great piece on it ... thanks for your answer too ....

Auto Insurance Mandate is a False Argument - Humans are not autos
That argument is as lame as healthcare being a 'right'. You can own and drive a vehicle on your property with no insurance or registration required. Lots of people do this- farm and plow trucks are examples. Also, where are the hordes of IRS agents that enforce purchasing auto insurance?
I really hope that whoever bumps into me next time I'm walking has health insurance. I'd hate to incur the bill if I get a scrape.
