March 26 - Shakira proved that she is not only beautiful on the outside, but also on the inside.

Here is what she posted on her Twitter page about yesterday's march in support of the Ladies in White: "Today I join the call to action by Gloria Estefan to support the Ladies In White, who are true heroines of our time, exemplars of female courage and victims of the repression and violation of human rights in Cuba. I hope that this rising up for the freedom of all political prisoners and respect for human rights will reach the very heart of all the tyrants and that above all, plants seeds of liberty in all the young people of the world, because it is us who justice depends on." - SHAKIRA

Women protest peacefully in Cuba for the release of their
loved ones (political prisoners) by attending Mass each Sunday dressed in white.

The peaceful protester being removed by Castro regime authorities.

Why would a regime that boast to have the second largest
and best equipped army in this Hemisphere, be so afraid
of a group of women conducting a peaceful protest and
carrying only flowers, not guns?

Somebody’s going to have to help Shakira get her mind right. If she keeps speaking out like this, she’s going to have her liberal creds revoked.

Is Shakira planning to go down and protest with them?

How cool. Shakira is also, stunningly talented to listen to.

Just found her recent song “La Tortura” a sort of club mix style duet with a guy named Alejandro Saez, and can’t get enough of listening to it.

In fact I just started it again what a great song. Nice thing for her to do.

Wow, it seems not all the ladies in Cuba are anti-Castro.

I wonder what each of the 4 carrying the one lady off would think if their sons, or husbands, were in prison, too?

Ok, good for her....but how about all that lib support for their prez during the election? And now he’s CASTRO’s hero!!!
Go away until you and Estafan go after Castro’s enabler - Obama - that’s when COURAGE will be displayed...

Shakira Mebarek is not a US citizen, although her father was Lebanese-American (mama being Catalan-Colombian). I've written her several offers of a green card in exchange for vows, but, alas, no response.

As far as the Estefans are concerned, they have always been Dems (although most of Gloria's family are GOP supporters). Emilio (yet another member of the Lebanese diaspora) endorsed Bush both times, however.

Thanks - too bad Gloria doesn’t listen to Emilio more - and I have heard her castigate Castro - but not enough and not in the presence of her good friend, Rosie ODonnell...
Also, it doesn’t seem to prevent hollywierd types who are not US citizens from criticizing Repub admins...
