ROMNEY LEADS GOP 2012 FIELD, GAINS AGAINST OBAMA (DEM Push Poll Alert)
Clarus Research Group ^ | March 25, 2010 | Ron Faucheux

Posted on 03/25/2010 4:43:59 PM PDT by Brices Crossroads

A new nonpartisan [see post 1 below for how nonpartisan this poll really is] nationwide poll shows that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney is currently the strongest GOP presidential candidate for the 2012 election. The poll also shows President Obama leading all potential Republican candidates, but by narrower margins than he did last August. The poll was conducted March 17-20, 2010 by Clarus Research Group, a Washington, D.C.-based polling firm, using live telephone interviewers. It was based on a representative nationwide sample of 1,050 U.S. registered voters, with a margin of error of +/- 3 percent. The survey was not sponsored or paid for by any client, candidate or political party.

OBAMA RE-ELECTION

• In a head-to-head match-up, Obama leads Romney 45 percent to 41 percent with 14 percent undecided. Though still behind the incumbent, Romney has strengthened his position since last August when the Clarus Poll showed Obama leading him by a 47-38 percent.

“Romney is the early polling frontrunner for the Republican nomination,” said Ron Faucheux, president of Clarus. “He has improved his standing against Obama and runs first among Republicans for the 2012 presidential nomination.”

• In the poll, Obama leads former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin 52 percent to 34 percent, close to the 53 percent to 34 percent lead he posted against her in August.

“Though he continues to top all the potential GOP candidates surveyed, President Obama captures more than 50 percent of the vote only against Palin in the latest poll,” said Faucheux.

Please. Romney is the most likely candidate to push aggressively for repeal of capital gains taxes which will be very important for capital growth given that the rate of inflation in the coming years is likely to be going up.

Kid, two time draft dodging RINORomney wouldnt even push aggressively into the jungles of Vietnam....

Other than the most likely candidate to push aggressively for abortion..

He’s too much a wimp to go up against anything for the conservatives..

RINORomney’s record is ome of “pushing aggressively” for liberal issues and against the conservative ones..

Never Romney’s fault, right Norman Bates?

Not his fault he imposed RomneyCARE and fled.

Not his fault he covered up the BIG DIG and fled.

Not his fault he imposed gay marriage by usurping the Mass. Constitution ... and fled.

Not his fault his staffers attacked Gov. Palin and her children.

Nope, Not Romney fault. [/s]

Mitt RomneyCARE on Letterman (actually choosing the same night as Gov. Palin on Leno,
And after Letterman attacked Gov. Palin’s daughters!):

Mitt RomneyCARE (D, RINO): "I'm not running as the Republican view or a continuation of Republican values.
That's not what brings me to the race.

(Backstabber Romney Video, accessed 9/19/07)

"We don't intend to turn the Republican Party
over to the traitors in the battle just ended.
We will have no more of those candidates who are pledged
to the same goals as our opposition and who seek our support.
Turning the Party over to the so-called moderates
wouldn’t make any sense at all.""

--  President Ronald Reagan

Romney (Carpetbagger shapeshifter, D, RINO): ”I'm very clear I think, to the people across the Commonwealth
my "R" didn't stand so much for Republican as it does for reform.
"

Video, accessed 9/19/07)

"A political party cannot be all things to all people.
It must represent certain fundamental beliefs
which must not be compromised to political expediency
or simply to swell its numbers."

Must admit her comments about targeting 20 seats in the House left me with WHAT? Especially since the RNC is targeting 40 to Take Back the House. If we were only down by 20, Obamacare would not have passed.
_________________________________________________

Really? Sarah wants to target THE 20 dems in districts McCain/Palin won in the last election, that voted for Obamacare.

You don’t get that? You think she thought we only needed
20 seats to take back the house?

Sarah Palin urges Israel settlement expansion, attacks Barack Obama

Sarah Palin calls for an expansion of Israel settlements – challenging 40 years of US policy . Palin also criticizes Barack Obama for urging an Israeli halt.

...........Obama is wrong to oppose settlement expansion, ..................
“I disagree with the Obama administration on that,” Palin said. “I believe that the Jewish settlements should be allowed to be expanded upon

The Obama Administration reaches out to some of the world’s worst regimes in the name of their engagement policy. America and our allies watch as sanctions are eased on Cuba.

Letters are written to Iran’s mullahs only to see that regime start killing protestors in the streets of Tehran. Envoys are sent to North Korea as they continue to defy the world’s demand to give up their nuclear weapons.

The Burmese military junta’s representative is allowed to travel to our nation’s capital. The President’s envoy for Sudan talks about giving that genocidal regime “gold stars,” while the President shakes hands with Venezuela’s tyrannical leader.

In the midst of all this embracing of enemies, where does the Obama Administration choose to escalate a minor incident into a major diplomatic confrontation? With Iran, Cuba, Sudan, North Korea or Burma? No. With our treasured ally, Israel........

Now, however, we see the Obama Administration has decided to escalate, make unilateral demands of Israel, and threaten the very foundation of the US-Israel relationship. This is quickly leading to the worst crisis in US-Israel relations in decades

As Israel makes concessions (and is still criticized by the Obama Administration), Arab leaders are just sitting back waiting for the White House to further pressure Israel. The

Obama Administration needs to open its eyes and recognize that it is only Iran and her terrorist allies that benefit from this manufactured Israeli controversy.......

They always push the RINO, be it Bush, Ford, Romney, etc. In 2012, that dog just ain’t gonna hunt.

With passage of ObamaCare, I have been receiving junk e-mails from PACs of Pawlenty, Palin, Newt, Huckabee, and Romney. They are all asking for money to help repeal ObamaCare. Of course candidates are soliciting money too. Passage of ObamaCare has been a fundraising frenzy on both sides.

As for 2012, lets go with new people. My Man Mitch (Mitch Daniels) for 2012!

Yes we will be seeing fresh faces in the primary. But there will many old faces too. Newt and Santorum seriously giving 2012 a hard look. Romney is leading because conservatives are divided over Palin, Huckabee, and Romney. RINOs are showing solidarty for Romney. Kinda like in 2008, when RINOs rallied around McCain when Giuliani fizzled out. The big question will be will RINO become divided when Mitch Daniels or Pawlenty jump in?

Let’s put this way — she was up against the RNC $1 for 40 which is how many seats we have targeted to take back — same day she came out with 20 targeted seats. Bad timing and any explanation was lost with the successful RNC campaign $1 for 40.

There are 2012 polls out. A Harris Interactive Poll has Obama with 45%, Romney with 25%, and Palin with 18% should she run as a Tea Party Candidate. This polls shows that despite GOP insiders trying to push Romney on the grassroots, the grassroots think little of him.

Also, CNN has its own poll that has the GOP primary at Mitt 22, Palin 18, and Huck 17. Also Obama is tied with a generic GOP candidate at 47. The fact that the 2008 retreads are polling under 25% shows that people who fresh faces.

Yeah right. I didn’t even know about the RNC fundraiser, not that I would have donated anyway.

I sent $50 to Sarahpac.

Oh Norman. You know as well as anyone since it has been all over FR that Romney still sings the praises of his bill even now, years after the Dems “tampered” with it...

Being disingenuous seems to be SOP for Romneybots...

“Team Romney plans to throw Election2012
as they did in Election2008”

That is their plan. However, it won’t work this time. In order for them to throw the election, they will have to make sure another McCain-style Moderate is nominated. This they cannot do. The 2012 nomination is reserved for....Sarah Palin(read:conservatives).

In December 2012, Romney will be slinking around to Palin’s transition headquarters, hat in hand and as unctuous as ever, trying to get himself appointed Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (like his daddy). I hope she boots him across the Potomac.
