Obama's halo blinds Democrats to trouble ahead
The Washington Examiner ^ | March 25, 2010 | Chris Stirewalt

Magical thinking has returned to Obamaland and Democrats are lining up for their unicorn rides.

Listening to the analysis of Democrats and the swooning press corps suggests that between Sunday night and Tuesday afternoon all of the realities of American politics had been wiped away.

Passing an unaffordable health bill over strong public objections on a straight party-line vote: a political masterstroke.

Signing the bill into law with the concentrated rascality of the Democratic Congress cheering and chanting like college kids at a campaign rally: a historic moment for all Americans to celebrate.

Having Vice President Joe "F***ing" Biden welcome President Obama into the embrace of history with the quotidian profanity of our time: a charming bit of earthiness.

Republicans used to engage in this kind of fantasizing.

Everyone I met this week is screaming about Obama....and our lost country.

When I hear the Dem congress folks jubilant in defying the will of the people, I'm sickened.

too many conservatives have been busy working hard, spending time with their families, and trying to put aside a little for retirement (or college, for the WEALTHY among us who are entitled to NO aid).

Now that so many conservatives are out of work and lost their homes, small businesses have folded, and the economy shows no indication that things will pick up unless you are a community organizer and a minority, congress can expect more protests a’la europe style. that’s what they wanted wasn’t it? I’d say a few thousand unemployed construction workers marching town the mall in DC would scare the F’in poop out of a few of the sissy boys in the capital. Hey, SEIU gets a free pass shoving people around - being nice didn’t get Americans anywhere!

demrats have decided the only way they can win in Nov, 2010 & 2012 is to allow felons the right to vote and PUSH Amnesty for the illegals. Since they already PUSH the Health control Bill through... they will push these as well.

The electorate has a very short memory...especially Democrats. The Obamacare euphoria won’t wear off until after the election and by that time it will be too late.

Best news today is that Obama is going to be running around the country trying to sell this piece of crap.

The more he runs his mouth, the more his poll numbers drop, and the less the public likes whatever it is he is selling.

Which will negate the next poster’s point about the electorate having a short memory. The Democrats are going to be shoving highly unpopular bills through on a party-line vote for the rest of the summer. There will be no time for forgetting.

Magical thinking is the province of 7-year-olds - the average mental and emotional age of the dems.
