A self-proclaimed "tea party Democrat" says he will announce plans to seek the Democratic nomination for Connecticut's U.S. Senate seat.
Warren Mosler, a financier, founder of a sports car company and a former candidate for the U.S. Virgin Islands' nonvoting seat in Congress, is scheduled to formally announce his candidacy Wednesday at a Wallingford restaurant.
A native of Manchester, the 61-year-old has lived in the Virgin Islands but says he recently relocated to Guilford to seek the nomination.
He faces Attorney General Richard Blumenthal and Mystic businessman Merrick Alpert.
Mosler says he has a plan to fix the U.S. economy in 90 days. It calls for a payroll tax holiday, an $8-per-hour national jobs program, and additional revenue to states.

Let them divide the vote. Virgin Islands? He must be competing with Chris Dodd on hiding assets.

I’ve heard of this guy. His company builds a mid-engined car powered by a Chevy LS7. Awesome car.
I think he should leave the ‘Rats if he considers himself a conservative, though.

Democrats are so stupid they might even accept this guy.
But a conservative “tea partier” running on the Rat party ticket will create further confusion.

How does that affect the CT primaries? Are they open or closed based on party affiliation? Who is running in the Rep race? Is there a tea party Rep candidate?
I never trust the Dems. In NV, a third party tea party candidate has emerged that no one has heard of, including NV tea party folks. Reid is suspected of supporting this so he can split the vote against him.
