PHOENIX -- The day that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is set to campaign with Sen. John McCain in Tucson, another figure from the 2008 presidential election will make an appearance on the lawn of Arizona's capitol building.
Samuel Wurzelbacher, more commonly known as "Joe the Plumber," is scheduled to make an appearance at Friday's "Ax the Tax" rally against Proposition 100, which institutes a temporary sales tax increase across Arizona to fill the budget shortfall.
Wurzelbacher rose to fame after he questioned then-presidential-candidate Barack Obama about tax increases at a campaign rally. Both Obama and McCain referred to Wurzelbacher as "Joe the Plumber" during the presidential debates, thus giving him the nickname.
As Wurzelbacher talks taxes at the rally, Palin and McCain will be holding a picnic in Tucson on Friday before heading to Mesa for a rally Saturday.

It is getting a little hard to deny the conspiracy. It is out in the open in broad daylight.
Which one?
“There are three front runners for 2012, the only two giants in it are Palin and Mitt Romney, you are at war to stop Palin, that leaves the vast political machine of Romney, the vast wealth and fund raising of Romney, the vast name recognition of Mitt Romney, and the vast establishement support from the GOP and the democrats for Mitt Romney, mostly unopposed.”
We are in election time for 2012 already? Whoda thunk?
1) Romney Care bankrupted Massachusetts. Romney is finished.
2) Palin is getting rich with no family pressure. Why would she walk into hell? No way.
“Why don’t you bring lots of Water, a folding Chair and of course a hat and suntan cream, “
For 76 degrees??
Evidently you haven't, I'm coming to realize that the third party and the Ron Paul crowd do not think much on politics and campaigns.
The lay of the land is that Romney has been at this 2012 race for five years, he has already spent 200 million dollars probably towards this effort, Romney already has the ground troops, the organization, the big donors and his personal wealth, he has the name recognition, he has the support of the left media and the GOP establishment.
While you weren't paying attention Romney has been working to place his people into positions within the party and even public office that will work for him in 2012, that is what the Meg Whitman race in California is about for instance, Romney actually bought a home here for that one.
Romney has been locking up the talent, the big donors, laying his national foundation with tentacles in every state, all in an effort to suck the air and the substance out of the hopes of the Johnny come latelys that will find an 800 pound Gorilla blocking the starting gate.
Those charisma challenged figures that you think will emerge and suddenly be able to assemble the national machine and money and media presence to stop Romney, will not even be running for President, they will be running in the hopes that he chooses them for the veep slot when the time comes.

I have 40,500 posts here at Free Republic. Find just one that says I ever backed anyone but Duncan Hunter, and when he fizzled, Thompson. That goes for third party as well. You are desperate and pathetic!
LOL, I make that long thoughtful post, and you got nothing from it.
Yes, the 2012 campaign has already started.
I called you out on post 66. Your idiotic dismissals don’t cut it. Answer post 66.
What is to answer, you post at FR and you supported Hunter and Thompson a couple of years ago, is there a point?
40,500 posts. Find one that says I ever supported anyone but Hunter, then Thompson. Also, show me one post where I didn’t trash the idea of a third party.
GO FOR IT !!
You incredible fraud!
Is that what got you so hysterical? You troll so many Palin threads that I got that impression that you were one of the antiPalin groups and I didn’t see you as the Romney type.
A less hysterical man would have merely pointed out the minor error and stayed with the main topic.
You are so shaken that you actually pinged a massive support group to help you deal with the trauma, now that is weird.
Two things, ansel:
One, SJB is neither a Ron Paul supporter nor a third party person. Neither is MK, for that matter. They are, however, wonderful conservatives, and despite the fact that *I* like Ron Paul (in addition to quite a few other folks), I do strongly respect their opinions.
Two, just because a potential candidate is the front-runner two and a half years prior to the election does not mean that he (OR she!) will eventually become the nominee.
Remember that everyone had written off McInsane and he somehow ended up as the nominee.
“Is that what got you so hysterical? “
It appears that YOU are hysterical, not moi ;-)
Still waiting for a response from my post 66.
“Remember that everyone had written off McInsane and he somehow ended up as the nominee.”
Yeah, the devil had a field day ;-)
I am pretty sure that stephenjohnbanker and rabscuttle385 are completely opposed to Romney RINO and would work to undermine him on every front if and when he appears the front runner after announcing his candidacy. Right now they are dealing with the Mccain primary because that is a real race at this time.
A number of posters here have made the argument that only Palin can win the Republican primary, But do you believe she would have trouble winning that against Romney if they both announced?

I have posted numerous times that Romney should go back to Bain Capital, because as a pol, he is an EPIC FAIL ;-)
Ansell furiously going through my 40,500 posts, looking for a faux pas......
ROTFLOL!
Thanks, but as far as McCain, Romney and the 2008 race, for more than two years Romney has worked relentlessly and strategically, and spent millions of dollars, campaigned nationally, built allegiances, laid his ground work and built his organizations in primary states, structured portions of the GOP with personnel of his choosing all in an effort to avoid the chance of anyone being able to undercut him, or even to gain their footing next year when the primary formally kicks off.
Romney is focused on one goal in his life, when 2011 starts, Romney will have three years of preparation in place to avoid another 2008.
MSM “ Didn’t Romneycare bankrupt Massachusetts” ?
Dead meat.
I dont know. I heard Sarah on Hannity Monday tell him that third party challenges were healthy because they keep republicans honest. Hannity almost freaked (”...but the republicans have to winn....” LOL) and I thought :”Go Sarah!”. It really sounded sincere. Hoping to see more of that.
