Here is the loophole:

from the article...
“pledging the administration would not allow federal funds to pay for elective abortions covered by private insurance”

This means that federal funds will pay for for any abortion that isn’t covered by insurance. Therefore all abortions will be paid for.

I believe the prohibition applies to “private insurance,” which will be driven out of the market in favor of “public” insurance that will provide mandatory coverage of abortions.

I don’t see how an E.O. that could be rescinded with the stroke of a pen by the President can override legislation passed by Congress, really. There is no assurance here.

Also — who will be tasked with making sure our tax dollars are not put into a “General Fund”, and if those dollars are put into the pot will some funds be “earmarked” not to be used for “Women’s Health Services”???

All I see this EO as is an attempt to placate some in regards to our moral objections to funding abortion. It’s a piece of paper that I can’t see holding any REAL weight...

Of course, it's easy. The operative word is "elective." Get an abortionist to say it's in the best interest of the mother's "health" and... viola: instant abortion courtesy of the government (aka, you and I, the taxpayer.)

All of these “pro life democrats” will be gone soon enough, then he will issue a new executive order.

Besides EO’s are not law.

Sorry, an EO cannot override a STATUE. There is nothing to get around - it has not more substance than the man signing it. Boy king just got through signing the REAL LAW and this EO does NOTHING to repeal or supersede that LAW.

Certainly. They'll take a pause from using the Constitution like Charmin and take advantage of the fact that executive orders cannot change legislation. The Senate bill is the law of the land. Obama rules the Executive Branch only.
