" The civil war was fought over slavery and states rights"
The civil war was about states rights and intrusion by the federal government. Slavery had no part until Lincoln and the North decided to make it "THE ISSUE". That is the the reason why the South calls the the Civil War "The War of Northern Agression"........red

Whitey has grown tired of these tantrums.
When unemployment is at an all-time high, hurting someone’s feelings just isn’t worth giving a damn about to most folks.

Also, back then, it was a higher percentage of Republicans (81%) than Democrats (68%) who voted in favor of the Civil Rights Act. And today, it is once again a higher percentage of Republicans (100%) than Democrats (13%) who again uphold the Constitution.

“Amazing how they manage to turn this into a racial issue....”
The Leftists actually REALLY do want a racial crisis to take advantage of while they are in power. Watch for more and more provocations as we head towards November.
They want racial instability to keep themselves on top.

If it was up to Bart Stupak - we would have been murdered at birth so a local aiport in N MI could get some luggage carts and a few runway lights. Now that would make a GREAT campaign slogan!! Good job.

Thanks. I kind of like it after reading it a few times.
I hope the fellow running against Stupak uses it. If anyone knows him - tell him to go for it.

This nation is irrevocably torn assunder.
There is no way that we can live together as one people...we are far too different in our values and principles. There is a great reckoning right on our doorstep.

Last night, the Virginia Legislative Black Caucus issued a press release saying all of its members stand behind the bill Obama signed. Does Virginia have a Legislative White Caucus?
The very name "The Virginia Legislative Black Caucus" is racist...
