After Threats and Vandalism, Democrats Meet with Capitol Police

After Democratic lawmakers were targeted by death threats and vandalism, House Democrats met with members of the Capitol Police today to discuss security concerns.

Majority Leader Steny Hoyer and Majority Whip James Clyburn held a press conference this afternoon on Capitol Hill, saying members had raised concerns and that Capitol Police told them to address any suspicious activity around the Capitol.

"Any member who feels themselves at risk is getting attention from the proper authorities," Hoyer said. At least 10 Democratic lawmakers have complained of threats or other security concerns.

they have already walked through protesters to get a response but because nothing happened they then made it up and now this.

Excellent point. Tea Party organizers need to have a plan of action for moments like these. Personally, I think the protesters should turn their backs and give the "enemy" the silent treatment. Even better, they should just start saying The Lord's Prayer with their backs turned. You know, we should let the Lord handle evil. We should shun it.

Mark Levin reported Tuesday that he has received heavy anti-Semitic calls, mail. Rush reported that he has received heavy hate mail lately, as did Glenn Beck. The word has apparently gone out to the trolls to hit the phones and the keyboards. Maybe our conservative talk show hosts should hold a press conference and get the word out to the masses about what they are experiencing. Speak up and speak out.

I dare anybody in the media to approach any of these congressmen and ask exactly what happened, when, how, where, etc., and then verify that the capitol police or the FBI have actually confirmed that threats were made.

With sadness I think you're right -- they're up to something. I think there's a good possiility they're trying to set up a "crisis" scenario to halt the November elections. Now, that would have sounded stark-raving paranoid a year ago.
