Congressman Bart Stupak, a Michigan Democrat, railed against pro-life groups on Tuesday, calling them hypocritical for supporting President Bush's executive order on stem cells and not believing that President Obama's executive order regarding abortion funding in the health care act is "good enough." Mr. Obama is expected to sign the executive order today:
PICKET: Theres the motion to re-commit, in which you voted against your own
STUPAK: Voted against my own language. In the motion to re-commit yes because I feel that we have adequatelymore than adequately protected life, the sanctity of life especially with the executive order, the colloquy on the floor. And as I said on the floor, the right to life groups applauded George Bush in 2007 when he did his executive order, and now we did our executive order, suddenly its not good enough? I believe some groups politicize life. As I said in my motion , when I spoke against the motion[to recommit], lets not politicize life. Lets prioritize life, and thats what we did in this legislation and the executive order.
PICKET: Theres an idea out there, that essentially, no matter what, you were going to put the health care bill over the abortion issue.

We do know however who controls you, idiotStupak....
His political career died on Sunday. He, however, gained the esteemed title of TRAITOR to his country that will follow him throughout eternity.
Cynical as hell.
Bush supporters knew that Bush was not going to erase that EO at a political whim, and also knew there wasn’t any law providing contrary to it. We have neither condition satisfied in the present case.
Why does he bother to belong to the Catholic church and make a song-and-dance of it in his public life then, if he doesn’t believe in its tenets? Oh that’s right, to get votes from gullible voters. This is the left’s standard MO-join an organisation or church to score points with voters, then proceed to try to destroy that institution from within after using the label for their own purposes. They’re also doing this with Protestant denominations-they join, then proceed to deny and try to gut everything the church has always stood for, ie the “social justice” churches.
STUPAK: Do I believe in the primacy can you explain that to me?
PICKET: Well considering the Vatican have in terms of the Catholic religion
STUPAK: The Pope and the Catholic faith does not control Catholic legislators. We must vote reflective of our districts and our beliefs. When I vote pro-life, it happens to be my own personal belief, also my districts beliefs and the nation's
He didn't understand the question because he didn't understand "primacy". It didn't stop him from giving the wrong answer however.
There is no excuse for this idiot ever claiming to be in favor of life.
Hey Stupid-pak the difference between GW’s EO is two fold. First GW isn’t the type who would have went against his own word especially on abortion, secondly it wasn’t unconstitutional.
Got one word for Bart....DUHHHH!!!!
Great minds think a like.
This guy just keeps making it worse. What a jerk? What is a Catholic lawmaker anyway?
Perhaps Bart needs to just become a soon to be toast lawmaker and forget the church...oh wait, he already has.
Bush signed that EO with the full belief behind it. Obama’s arm had to be twisted to do his. Now why would we trust Obama?
His cover - blame Bush
He is right, the pope controls no-one we aren’t even puppets for God but one’s Christian morals should control Catholic and Christian lawmakers.
Just as God knew from all time that Judas would betray His Son, he also knew that Bart Stupak would betray unborn children, it was a sad day when Judas betrayed and it is again a sad day when Stupak betrays.
hahhaha....now the pope is a jerk...hahahha
For the umpteenth time, this isn't just about federal funding for abortion. Your vote last weekend empowered the HHS Secretary to mandate that all private insurers cover abortion. That is far, far worse than limited federal funding. Obligatory abortion coverage means that every abortion in the country will now be paid for with insurance policy dollars. Those dollars come from the premiums of policy holders. And now that every one in this country is required (at the point of a gun) to be a policy holder, this means that at the whim of the Kathy Sebilius, every single person in this country will be forced to subsidize abortion. And the executive order which you hold up now in Chamberlainesque fashion will do NOTHING to prevent it. May God have mercy on your soul, Congressman.
I have absolutely no respect for a church that condones idiots like Stupak.
Roman Catholic teachings have ALWAYS been PRO-LIFE.
We are not UNITARIANS!!
What part of this does Stupidpack not understand???
“Stupak: Pope doesn’t control Catholic lawmakers”
Nor does common sense or decency.
