Rep. John Dingell (D-MI), the Dean of the House of Representatives for being the longest serving member of the body (he was first elected in 1955, succeeding his father, Rep. John Dingell, Sr.), made an amazing admission during a live telephone interview with Detroit WJR News/Talk 760 radio talk show host Paul W. Smith on Smith's show Monday morning, March 22, 2010. The night before, Dingell had been a featured speaker at the Democrat Congressional leadership victory press conference after Obamacare passed the House.
In response to a question posed by Smith, Dingell said:
Let me remind you this [Americans allegedly dying because of lack of universal health care] has been going on for years. We are bringing it to a halt. The harsh fact of the matter is when you're going to pass legislation that will cover 300 [million] American people in different ways it takes a long time to do the necessary administrative steps that have to be taken to put the legislation together to control the people.

Luckily I have not had to see a Doctor since 1985 for anything besides one quick job physical. Don't think you could ever get me into a hospital on this planet. My dad dropped dead a few days out of a Veterans Hospital. Granted, he had a triple bypass, but he might have lived a few days longer without the operation. You really need to assume that we you have a grave condition like that, you need to assume the worse and not be given false hope. At least take the time to finalize your life. My old man never did.

Terri was murdered by a husband who’d already abandoned the marriage for another woman. He held no ties to her anymore and didn’t want to relinquish control (and assets) to her family.
If there had been a notorized document calling for pulling the plug, it’d be one thing. It was his word against everyone else and he had no compelling interest to support his wife.
