OTTAWA—Security officials have scrubbed American right-winger Ann Coulter’s speech at the University of Ottawa after a boisterous protest prompted concerns for her safety.
A spokesman for the group that organized the event said there were fears for Coulter’s well-being after about two thousand people gathered outside the venue to protest her presence there.
Coulter is a darling of the U.S. right-wing who uses incendiary language to sell millions of books as well as her syndicated column.
She sparked more controversy during a speech at University of Western Ontario Monday night when she told a 17-year-old Muslim student to “take a camel” instead of a the flying carpet she has previously suggested Muslims use for transportation.
Even before her Canadian tour began, Coulter received a pre-emptive and private caution about the limits of free speech in this country from the provost of the University of Ottawa.
The letter was immediately leaked to select conservative news organizations, with Coulter telling one that the university was “threatening to criminally prosecute me for my speech.”

After the 2012 election, President Palin should simply annex Canada. Then we should just throw out Ontario and Quebec (forced to survive by themselves without the other provinces supporting them, both would sink into Euro-Socialist mediocrity). We wouldn’t need to bring back any troops from Iraq or Afghanistan to accomplish the annexation. The Buffalo police department could probably handle the job.

Hasn’t it though...you took the words out of my mouth. It’s like things are really accelerating into the abyss.
As a Canadian this angers me a heck of a lot. I wish I had the resources to personally attend this protest, I would of been forced to uphold my oath I took to protect my country against all enemies foreign and domestic. I’m sick of seeing what my country has become, and the lack of freedom makes me fear for my children. I would gladly fight to see the restoration of the original constitution for the US, but as far as Canada being annexed, I can’t see that happening. I would like to see a strong relationship between provinces though, primarily places like Alberta, Saskatechewan, northern Ontario ( not even remotely like the idiots in the south part), and parts of British Columbia (excluding Vancouver). I would like to see those areas grow closer with some strong conservative states so we can help each look out for freedom and guard against the enemy.

I spent some time working on projects in Toronto, and my view is that the English speaking Canadians gave up there country the day they declared it Bilingual. The culture of English jurisprudence was lost, and replaced with the quasi french culture of Quebec. Then any culture took precedence over the English culture, all in the name of tolerance of others... America is heading that way now. Watch out for ‘Immigration reform, 10+million new voters who were raised in a culture of corruption. It’s bad.
May their student loan demands for final payments back, come hard and often. Words fail me at this point. Ann rocks!
A good portion of the world. Some of what Coulter says though doesn’t always show good judgement. Seems like she has a tendency to defend herself by firing in various directions at random when she feels threatened. Certainly is stupid if the government of Canada thinks they need some sort of commission to make pronouncements like that though. Hopefully the whole event will spark some productive debate up there anyway...unless the left wing hordes are really in control up there (which may be the case).

Now you’ve got classes with chinese instructors, where nothing but chinese is spoken. So if you’re an anglo that finds you way into that class, and don’t speak chinese, you’re pretty much screwed. Right here in your own country.
