GO BILL!
Our dumb dem of a Governor in Arkansas declined to join the lawsuit. Big suprise!
Godspeed.
Thirteen states. A good start.
I wonder what the legal strategy behind the joint filing is. To my legally untrained brain, I would have thought it better for each AG to file a separate suit in their own federal circuits/districts (or one suit per) so as to force the USSC to take the issue up sooner rather than later, avoiding discordant circuit/district rulings.
I think more states will sign onto the lawsuit over the next few weeks.
AG of Texas, Gregg Abbot in the process of filing a separate lawsuit.
What about the “equal protection clause”.. Some states are getting preferential treatment over others (”sweetheart deals”), and certain exemptions in some cases.. This is clearly unconstitutional. And barring banks from issuing student loans?? How is THAT constitutional?
Mike Cox of Michigan just may get my vote for governor!
Tennessee’s AG says he has his staff studying the law and may join the lawsuit.
Tenessee’s governor Bredesen congratulated Obama on passage of the bill but is also on record as saying TN can’t afford it.
Good luck, Bill.
I haven’t seen it yet but I understand that there is legal a petition going around to get a referendum on the ballot for this fall in Michigan. It apparently will force the state to refuse to take part in the socialist health care scam.
Referendums are where Michigan conservatives tend to shine the brightest. Gay marriage, guns, and affirmative action are some of our recent success stories.
Thank you, AG McCollum!
Fla’s AG described the bill as a “Tax on living”. I wonder if you can consider it a violation of the 24th amendment prohibition on poll taxes.
David Axelrod and the rest of the red diaper doper babies running the country “ aren’t concerned” about these lawsuits, probably because they have no intention of complying with any adverse rulings
I just wrote my state’s AG (GA - Baker-D) and among many other things asked him what GA government would do when taxpayers move from GA to states that are fighting for their freedoms?
I also told him I would publize the names at this next election of anyone supported this bill.
Yeah, I know it probably won’t do any good but I have to do something.
I just emailed my thanks to my AG McCollum. Unlike Stupak’s contact form, comments from other states appear to be enabled.
I just may pack up my money and move to one of those states. One thing I can guarantee you... when a state secedes from the union, I’m there.
