District 19 Special Election - April 13, 2010

Posted on 03/23/2010 7:03:26 AM PDT by Mich1193

It is time to send a message! http://www.SouthFloridaTeaParty.org

The first opportunity we have to send a message to DC is at the US District 19 Special Election on April 13, 2010. South Florida Tea Party is committed to educating voters and getting out the vote (GOTV) in US Congressional District 19. We have not endorsed any candidate and only want to make voters aware of where the candidates stand. The Tea Party needs to help citizens have their voices and votes heard.

The US District 19 favors Democrat voters and unlikely to be won by Conservatives. In addition the leading conservative candidate, Ed Lynch, has some serious issues, specifically owing over $1 million in back taxes and several judgments. We are not endorsing him, but believe people have the right to know that the leading Democrat candidate supports Obamacare and big government.

Our goal is educate, get out the vote and try out strategies for November 2010. We would like to invite you and your organizations down to help us out. It is important that you represent your tea party/912 group. Wear your t-shirts proudly. This will be 100% about creating awareness on the issues, not a candidate or party!

South Florida Tea Party is committed to the following:

Remote GOTV calling of voters - Sign up here Precinct canvassing for GOTV Education of voters considering the issues What is GOTV?

Getting out the Vote (GOTV) is exactly the same as it means, getting voters to the polls. In addition the tea party provide will provide a nonpartisan and unaffiliated rating regarding issues and bills on all candidates. The time has come to put an end to candidates and political parties’ propaganda! Getting out the vote (GOTV) is critical to the survival of America. The more educated voters that turn out, the stronger our issues become.

Why should the tea party NOT work for a candidate and focus on GOTV?

Let’s take a look at the old way of working on campaign for a candidate or political party:

The focus on candidate and/or the political party The effort is partisan and appeals only to one political party We are trying to persuade voters versus educate voters Volunteers work for candidates not the organizations We only win only if candidate wins It only increases the candidate and political party’s influence Let’s compare this to Get Out The Vote (GOTV)

The focus is on issues and not candidates The effort is nonpartisan and appeals to all political parties Voters are educated and voters are not told who to vote for Volunteers remain with organizations and can’t be used by the political parties or candidates *It advances the issues of the organization in the community whether the candidate wins or loses The dirty political secret is that campaigns and political parties often forget about organizations after they are elected. The first thing Scott Brown voted for was a progressive job bill in the Senate. In addition, they will continue to ask for donations even if they vote against your organizations issues.

Please consider setting aside time during March and the first two weeks of April to help us in our efforts. Any assistance will be appreciated. If you can help in any of these areas, call (561) 247-5264 or e-mail volunteer@southfloridateaparty.org.For more information, see www.SouthFloridaTeaParty.org.

Elect Ed Lynch as the first new GOP Congressman sworn to repeal Obamacare. He is the House Scott Brown. Please send him whatever you can and volunteer to make calls for him. You can do it from whereever you live. If we win in FL 19 it will be as big a shock as Brown. Go to http://www.electlynch.com

It’s unfortunate that the first electoral test of Obamacare is in a heavily weighted Democrat district. If the Dem wins, the MSM will report that it was a huge victory for Obamacare. Sometimes it seems as if the good guys can’t catch a break...

WTG, RPOF ... WTG. He's qualified to be a czar or cabinet officer - maybe Rahm will bribe him to take a dive right before election day.

Seems to me the chances of winning this VERY blue district are slim -- this district looks even bluer than statewide MASS.

Possibly there may be a chance if the composition of the blue voter base is weighted more toward retired FDR/JFK devotees and less toward the younger ethnic base.

The 19th District has two largely Democrat groups who are disillusioned with Obama: 1) Retiree/older voters and 2) Jewish voters. Both groups nation wide are off the liberal reservation and are very amenable to fiscal and international conservatism now. Furthermore, this is a special GENERAL election on April 13 guaranteeing low turnout, PLUS many snow bird voters have flown back north by now and are not getting much news about this election in their northeastern cities.

This is not even taking into consideration the strong Florida east coast Tea Partiers who remember it was Lynch who sued Wexler to make him prove residency in the State of Florida, let alone the 19th District. The court refused to dismiss the suit and Wexler, his goose being cooked, resigned in humiliation a few months ago.

This is an imminently winnable pick-up for the GOP. Any Free Republic posters, who are self-hating, so-called conservatives and who love to whine about how we cannot win, keep your fatalistic defeatism to yourself or go post it over at HuPo.
