Thanks xzins for the ping, and for this:
In the address, Bibi says that he has a ring excavated from the Wailing Wall that is about 2800 years old and inscribed with his family name, Netanyahu.
I'm sure this will provide more grist for the racists on HuffPo, Stormfront, DailyKos, etc.
The attempt by many to describe the Jews as foreign colonialists in their own homeland is one of the great lies of modern times. In my office, I have on display a signet ring that was loaned to me by Israel's Department of Antiquities. The ring was found next to the Western wall, but it dates back some 2,800 years ago, two hundred years after Kind David turned Jerusalem into our capital city. The ring is a seal of a Jewish official, and inscribed on it in Hebrew is his name: Netanyahu. His name was Netanyahu Ben-Yoash... The connection between the Jewish people and the Land of Israel cannot be denied.The connection between the Jewish people and Jerusalem cannot be denied. The Jewish people were building Jerusalem 3,000 year ago and the Jewish people are building Jerusalem today. Jerusalem is not a settlement. It is our capital.

Dear Bibi;

Firstly, let me express my extreme sorrow and outrage over the idiotic behavior of the Roman Emperor Vespasian toward your people. I think I can trace all the ills between Jerusalem and the rest of the world to this one man. Vespasian was short of cash, and came up with some novel ideas. One of them was a "monotheistic tax" -- a tax on cultures that only worshiped one God. Without saying so, Judaism was the prime target.

It wasn't bad enough that Vespasian imposed this tax on the Jews, he then used the very same tax money to have built, in Jerusalem, a temple to the God Jupiter.

That was just a little too much. The Jews, understandably, felt a little insulted that their tax money would pay for such a temple. Every time the Jews protested and rebelled, they were crushed -- first under Vespasian, his successor Titus, then after a small break, again with Hadrian, who really, really crushed them.

So, Bibi, I'm sorry as probably one of my ancestors was probably suppressing your ancestors -- unless my ancestors all sprang from Trajan, who was a really good guy.

Even still - enough already. Its your bloody city. Enjoy it.

When I was young, I read everything I could find on Moshe Dayan, The Palmach, Irgun, the fact the State of Israel survived a day let alone 6 decades is amazing. Where are the heros who held off hundreds of Syrian Tanks, who flew there low tech A-4s into the teeth of a modern Russian made air defense, discovered its weakness and won the Yom Kippur war. Sometimes as I look at Israeli military history and Yonni Netanyahu seemed to be the last.

When we raise animals, we try to breed them from the best of the species, but when Americans chose a President, they chose one from the lowest of the lowest humans on earth. He is even ashamed of his birth certificate ,and his citizenship papers. I hope we learn and never do such a thing again. We do reap what we sow.

In this administration it’s a tactical error to point out your country is one of America’s friends. That’s exactly who this bunch holds in contempt.
