King 5 News (with News Video on same page) ^ | March 22, 2010 | by LINDA BRILL / KING 5 News

A local group of parents and kids raised $90,000 to help with part time teachers and music programs.

When they turned it over to Seattle school district, the district hit them up with a $3,000 "processing" fee!!!

UN-FREAKIN-BELIEVABLE!!

Seriously, folks, heads gotta start rollin!

They should have KEPT the $90,000 and set up their own foundation instead of trusting school administrators.

We don’t donate money anymore to our school programs because of crap like this, we donate the instruments/gym equipment etc and give them directly to the teachers.

Hope you don’t mind that I moved this from chat into the news forum, adding vanity as a topic. This is a classic example of corrupted government. Thank you for posting it.

The school districts know to the penny just how much bounty they receive per student so it should come as no surprise that they skim from dedicated funds...gotta maximize the revenue for the children.

I wonder if I can add a “processing fee” in when I pay my property tax?

I’m sad, but glad I never had kids. I’d a killed someone over it a long time ago...

UN-FREAKIN-BELIEVABLE is an understatement!

It shows their priorities and it’s not the students.

If you add a processing fee for your property tax payment, odds are they'll charge you one in return. The world has turned completely upside down.
