The latest round-up of President Obama's job approval or favorability ratings by state updates or adds California, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Ohio, Oregon, Washington state, and Wisconsin.

Alabama

SurveyUSA, Dec. 11-13 2008 election: McCain 60 percent, Obama 38 percent

SurveyUSA says 61 percent disapprove of the job Obama is doing while 35 percent approve, with 4 percent undecided. Independents, who make up 23 percent of the sample, disapprove by 75 percent to 21 percent. Obama's support among fellow Democrats is only 63 percent. White voters (73 percent of the sample) disapprove by 75 percent to 21 percent while black voters (24 percent of the sample) approve by 81 percent to 18 percent. This is little changed from polls done in November and September.

Scary. Listening to Obama is starting to be a little like listening to your 4 year old. You learn to interpret. Corpsemen, 3000%; it’s OK we understand you’re a product of Harvard.

Just think how different the polls would look if the media would tell the truth.

So - our job is to get out and let people know the truth about what they are up to.

Folks should be neither surprised nor unduly alarmed if Obama's polling numbers spike up as a result of his success in healthcare "reform." We're already seeing a sharp move up (or a dead cat bounce) in the national Rasmussen poll the last coupe of days. Even though a solid majority of voters oppose the healthcare legislation, there's the old saying that "any publicity is good publicity."

Recall that Obama's numbers bounced up after his listless SOTU speech. It wasn't that everyone thought it was a great speech; it was simply that he dominated the news with it. The SOTU bounce faded in a few days. I expect the healthcare bounce will be stronger, and may last longer (weeks, not days), but it will dissipate.

So the fact that the numbers are not good are DOUBLY upsetting for dems.

My son came in from work and just told me even his dem friends are not happy. And some of them are more worried about the student loan stuff than the health care.

I can understand how college kids could feel that way.
