The question is whether the entire thing would go down or just the individual mandate part. Without the mandate, the ban on pre-existing conditions would bankrupt the insurance companies in a hurry.
Have to give this some thought — would love to have help in sending the RATs to the Unemployment line.
~~PING!
Some serious buyer remorse going on over there. Some DU quotes...
Very possibly true .. my oversight of
her dastardliness .. and possibly theirs.
Didn't you hear the speeches? "First time in history"...need I say more? In the immortal words of Jackson Browne in Before The Deluge : "Don't think it won't happen just because it hasn't happened yet"
Encouraging message from The Heritage Foundation.
He ran unopposed last term, I don't know yet if he has a opponent this time. We don't have much of a republican party left here. There is nothing in my district anymore.
Never did think that it wasn’t going to be tried — that’s a strawman. It would just face the same constitutional problem that unconditionally requiring purchases from private concerns would.
Well, the people at firedoglake.com are a much smarter crowd than those at DU. They pretty much hate it to a man (or woman) I only found about 1-2 comments that had any favorable comments about it. They are really really pissed about the individual mandate. They truly despise the democrats who joined hands with the insurance companies and dropped the public option.
bump
Are they really libertarians?
That’s pretty much what I saw at DU too. Lots of comments against the mandate. And some comments against dropping the public option.
I saw one post over there that claimed that the penalty was so low that the mandate wouldn’t matter. That the penatly was 0.5% of income. So someone earning $20,000 would pay $100 in extra taxes for not having insurance.
I thought the penalty was 2.5%, but I’m not sure where I got that.
They hate corporations more than government.
It is 2.5....
Hey don't get me wrong I think it is totally un-Constitutional...but this administration doesn't give a rip about the Constitution. They consider it a "flawed document" remember? Unfortunately far too many Americans agree...we are for sure at a tipping point...the country we've known or the country Obama wants re-made in his own image... how many fools are willing to let that happen is the million dollar question.
Stunned to see that no political personalities or citizen associations could stop that treacherous process(deals,bribes...)with legal actions...No one could stop the train driven by croocks...
This seriously asks the question of democracy
Good question, but I don’t think so. I’ll be reading their blog a lot now, they make a lot of good points and have a view that is worth the read.
Nothing can persuade me to change my life is sacred view, that is forever, but they present ideas that I haven’t taken the time to consider or even discussed at great length here on FR.

Can you make any recommendations or suggestions? I’d like to do the same. Even pointing me to some Web sites with relevant information would be useful. Thanks.
