DeMint to Introduce Bill to Repeal ObamaCare

March 21, 2010 - WASHINGTON, D.C - Today, U.S. Senator Jim DeMint (R-South Carolina) announced that he will introduce legislation this week to repeal President Obama's government takeover of health care. House Democrats voted this evening to pass the Senate version of the health care bill and it will likely be signed into law by President Obama later this week.

"This bill is unconstitutional and it cannot be fixed. It must be repealed," said Senator DeMint. "The battle for health care freedom is not over and I will introduce legislation this week to repeal this health care takeover.

"Unless this trillion-dollar assault on our freedoms is repealed, it will force Americans to purchase Washington-approved health plans or face stiff penalties. It will fund abortions, raise taxes and insurance premiums, while reducing health care choices and quality."

"This arrogant power grab proves that the President and his party care more about government control than the will of the American people. Americans told Washington to keep its hands off their health care in opinion polls, at public protests, and at the ballot box, but their pleas were ignored.

"If the President and Democrats were serious about true health care reform, there were many free-market solutions we could have easily passed. Americans support commonsense reforms such as purchasing coverage across state lines, stopping frivolous medical lawsuits, and giving the same tax breaks to Americans who don't get their insurance at work. Unfortunately, Democrats refused to listen."

The bill passed in the House today raids $52 billion from Social Security, cuts nearly $500 billion from Medicare, and doesn’t account for the hundreds of billions Congress must pass to pay doctors who treat elderly patients.

Mr. DeMint don’t waste your time...DEMOCRATS control the White House, the Senate, The house...we saw it all today...One democrat could have stopped all this and he didn’t have the guts to fight his Party... I feel worst then I did in Nov. when that 1/2 black, 1/2 white guy with the middle name HUSSAIN became President...and now he is going on a Victory tour in Air Force One all over our Nation to tell us how great things will be that his Presidency is saved... I’m praying for peace and comfort to get me through the coming days. nite everyone

Odds of that will be a lot higher Jan 20, 2011, that’s for sure. Make the Obamunist veto it every one of his remaining years.

SCOUTS????? Obama will have THREE justices on the court by November! We are toast, folks...

Are Alito, Roberts, Thomas, Scalia and Kennedy retiring?

Either way, only the courts can deem this POS bill as being unlawful.

DeMint should go home and lead secession.

I'm real cynical about all pols. They make too much money and have too much power to scrap it all for essentially nothing.

Three libs replacing three libs still give the conservatives the advantage.

“Wouldn’t Congress have to vote on the repeal bill? The same Congress that just passed the health care monstrosity? What are the odds of that?”

Just freaking showboating is all this is. Who's gonna pass it? Who's gonna sign it? Can we dispense with this goofy symbolism for once?

If the republicans had cared about this country instead of being re-elected the democrats would not be in power through voter fraud. They had the power to most of these bastards in prison but didn’t have the guts to do it.

The republican leadership is weak and stupid. They actually think they can support amnesty and get the Hispanic vote. And that’s just one example.

Conservatives have to speak up while the iron is hot right now. That’s what DeMint is doing now. He knows who just passed the bill and who controls the Congress right now.

I only hope that when they do speak it isn’t of the foolish or overreaching variety. I think DeMint here is just using the opportunity to lay out the deceptions and ramifications the Dems employed and voted on so voters will know what to look for in the voids of their TVs.

Why don’t you keep your cry baby a** off of these threads. Every thread you are whining about how we are done for. If you truly believe that take the advice I gave you already and get the he** out of this country. As I said before, we would be a lot better without people like you in it.

Correct me if I’m wrong but there’s no law that says there can be only 9 justices. Obama and his thugs can appoint anyone they want and get them confirmed. Hell, he might even give Hastings another shot at judgeship.

Unfortunately, that’s looks to be more and more like the only solution to this madness.

Three young communists and a bunch of older conservatives. Roberts is on the wire now. Obama’s justices will be opining and dissenting for decades. If the Left gets ONE MORE, its over, folks. Yes. I can think. I have thought and I'm getting the hell out now. My ancestors in Europe didn;t think fast enough and they are resting quietly in some mass grave somewhere in eastern Europe at the moment. Either fight or shut up. Keyboarding isn't going to cut it anymore...

NO repeal is ever going to happen while Obama is president. Even if Republicans manage to get control of the house or Senate, or both, there is NO way they will have enough to override a presidential veto of any “repeal” legislation.

That might be true, but I don't see why a Republican House would not be able to de-fund this mess. The house can even de-fund a war if they want to, surely they could de-fund much of this Marxist crap.

April, you hang in there and say anything you want. We still have a little bit of free speech left.
