Fox News Smears Tea Party: Pelosi, Lewis Walk Through Protesters "like civil rights march"

Fox news Producer Chad Pergram was just on the phone with anchor Megyn Kelly excitedly telling the story of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi walking arm and arm with Rep. John Lewis though a throng of thousands of Tea Party protesters on Capitol Hill who were chanting "kill the bill."

Pergram compared the scene to civil rights era marches with Pelosi and Lewis as the good guys and the Tea Party protesters as the bad guys.

Lewis and other members of the Congressional Black Caucus have made unsubstantiated charges that they were called n***** by protesters yesterday while walking between the Capitol and Congressional offices.

Pergram said Pelosi and Lewis were accompanied by several other Democrats and that she was carrying a large ceremonial gavel.

Today marks the 45th anniversary of a civil rights march in Selma, Alabama that Lewis participated in.

Same here, I do not get my news from any major media, they are all in the bag, it's just a question as to what extent. I get my news from FR, Rapture Ready, etc. I think Fox feels like it secured its place by catering to a conservative audience, and is ready to go after an even bigger share by "moderating". After all, where would conservative viewers go? Certainly not to the other networks and cable channels. It was never about being "the conservative voice", it was about making their mark by filling in a niche that had been ignored, for reasons of business and ratings. They've done that now, it's time to go after the rest.

Someone WILL begin another network, Maybe Beck (it could happen) and then FOX will be in the same boat as MSNBC and CNN. Do they really want that? There are many conservatives that are great business people, I’m 100 % sure that if they see this market open, they will take advantage of it. Agree -— the minute I turned on Fox news this a.m. I was treated to talking heads rolling eyes about the supposed use of the ‘N’ word against ‘leaders’ yesterday. Before they had time to spout off more about it, I turned off Fox and came to FR.

I’ll watch Beck and the others but not Fox News per se. Might as well watch MSNBC.
