I’m not a Bush bot.

you “purists” are just blaming the GOP for what Democrats did in 100 years and put us in this hole with their media monopoly. the internet is new. talk radio has been big only recently also.

this bashing of the GOP just turns conservatives against Republicans, divides conservatives which allows Democrats to win and to be able to turn the U.S. into a socialist state quicker, to finanlize the turning of the U.S. into a socialist state.

I don’t know for some reason i like my freedom and the opportunity the free market still provides in America and do not want to see the democrats turn the U.S. into the USSR. so i see you purists and the media as the threat as you divide conservatives as is the liberal mainstream media’s goal.

.Befor that Democrats controlled congress for 60 years and the media had a monopoly which demodcrats and the media used to grow this government , create mandatory spending programs , and put us in this mess which Republicans or Bush had nothing to do with.

Ummm.... What about 1994? I guess the four years that Gingrich was Speaker wasn't included in your sixty year plan.

Just. Too. Easy.

Bush can veto what , yeah democrat government healthcare. but you and “purists” and the media say why didn’t bush and republicans cut this or do this or that . well it’s because Democrats could fillibuster/block anything as Republicans never had fillibuster proof senate.

Yeah after 1994 republicans had a bare majority which they used to stop Clinton’s govenrment healthcare.

But Republicans and Bush never had the fillibuster proof senate so Democrats could block/fillibuster any Republican legislation or any Bush supported legislation.

what we had for 12 years of the Republican bare majority was for the most part gridlock which is not bad if wer weren’t in the hole democrats put us in the past 100 years before 1994.

I agree with you 100% about George W. Bush and Laura....they are classy people who actually HAVE morals. He did the best he could with the hand he was played and it does absolutely NO GOOD to criticize him now. How much better off would we have been with algore???

Lovely. Just what I want to hear. Republicans gleeful about their prospects to take the Majority however this goes. Screw that. I realize they added rhetoric that would appeal to the crowd but it’s fairly obvious the GOP is more excited by winning politically then sharing in the deep antipathy towards government control this bill represents. I appreciate Ryan’s quoted comments though. His at least seemed more to the point about the process then celebratory political oneupmanship.

I’m not stating the GOP can never win with me. Better they are onboard for killing this whatever the motivation driving them. I just wish their motivation was same as ours.

Just saw the last few posts. Yeah, not reading how this argument came about but was GWB “classy” when he called his supporters elitists, racists and sexists? Because he did. When we opposed amnesty and when we opposed appointing his unqualified friend to the Supreme Court. More moral then Obama of course, but don’t place the guy on a pedestal. He screwed up bigtime himself. I’ll credit him for taxuts, the war for the most part and the Court even if we did have to fight him on Miers. That’s it.

Republicans screwed up too and they still haven’t had their “come to Jesus” moment. Look to the objections in the Senate to forego earmarks. Maybe the House is starting to gain some enlightenment but they aren’t quite there yet either. Check the premature celebrations in the piece here over political victory. Yes, they are excited not on principle but because they might get their old offices back. Oh joy.

Don’t look to conservatives to act like their second appendage this time. We did that once and it didn’t work out so well. We’re going to be honest and call them out this time when deserved even if it makes their life difficult.

Don’t look to conservatives as an automatic vote either. They have to earn it. Hell, it took months to drag them into this current battle that they are currenting claiming will give them back the Majority. They didn’t have the sense at first to recognize it as the right thing to do either on principle or political grounds. DeMint was one of the few who did.

We will always have RINOs because some states are just more liberal than others and will continue to elect them. A strong leader can control RINOs in the party, take advantage of what they can contribute, and keep them voting with conservative Republicans. We need to get Republicans elected in 2010, get the majority in both houses, and early on establish a Republican front runner for 2012 that is a solid conservative leader with a record making things happen. I think we know who she is.

“I don’t care what their party is. If they are a conservative, I will vote for them.”

Where does the actual electoral Conservative power reside? How many Conservatives are in the D party or are Is? I’m not saying vote for anyone that has an R behind their name. I’m saying if you vote for Conservatives, they’ll almost always have an R behind their name. There’s a big difference there.

“They need to learn. And the best way they can learn is to lose to true conservatives.”

Right. And those Conservatives will almost all have Rs behind their names - like Rubio and Toomey, et al.

“Or we vote for conservatives (some Republicans and anyone else)”

Almost all Rs. That is where the seat of actual conservative electoral power lies.

I see that! I realize people don’t want our side to ‘sit on their laurels’, or get cocky. But for goodness sake, lets let the Repubs. savor a small victory! It might not last, and maybe it will. Even the hint of a victory is something they badly need, especially after the last big election. I get so impatient with some people on here who always feel the need to jerk the Repubs. down and take any fighting spirit they have!

Maybe, just maybe, the hint of a victory is what is needed now; just a shot in the arm of hope! It’s something like the ‘shot in the arm’ of hope that inspired George Washington’s forces to follow him across a icy cold river. It inspired them to go on following him to Trenton and then to Princeton to fight another day! Even with frostbitten feet!

A lifetime away?? O please...it will come so fast and the backlash against this huge government takeover will be immense. It seems to have taken Obama to awaken true Americans.

What the **** is this guy talking about? Have the ‘RATS finally lost it totally?

I'm not celebrating anything until it's carved in stone.

I don't trust those Democrats.
