Our Supreme Court may be the ultimate destroyer of this nonsense, and for that I largely thank W.

Even if we lose the vote tomorrow, I view it as a partial victory, because without the strong opposition by us rank and file, it would have been MUCH WORSE.

Also, the real leaders of the Republican party have begun to show themselves. And here comes 2012. . .I believe our nominee will be one of those who showed great leadership during this season of political war.

JASS 1968(IS THAT THE YEAR OF YOUR BIRTH?, If so I’m old enough to be your mom)

OBSVIOUSLY YOU HAVE FORGOTTEN THAT THE DEMOCRATS CONTROLLED CONGRESS JAN.2007

Haircudder,

Do you realize how hypocritical you are being?

You criticize Jazz1968 for suggesting GWB should have defended capitalism without Congressional control... isn't that defeatist of you, to suggest that GWB's liberalism was defensible?

Would Ronald Reagan, in November 2008, against the spectre of an obvious Marxist....would he have said (in all caps) "I BLAME BUSH?"

Or would he have supported McCain?

What about some blame for the Democrats, even?

What about some blame for the Democrats, even?

Please! We all know that democrats carry the lion's share of the blame. It's this "GW was helpless because of 9-11, Katrina and the filibuster" crap that we are trying to counter.

Would Ronald Reagan, in November 2008, against the spectre of an obvious Marxist....would he have said (in all caps) "I BLAME BUSH?"

Would an eight year term of a "Ronald Reagan" have led us to Obama?

The idea that Bush "fought" liberalism is absurd. Time after time he called us conservatives "out of touch", "racists", "bigots", etc.

Would I take Bush back? Only knowing what I know now. That we would have to fight him at just about every turn. And, spend just as much time urging him to stand up for conservatism as we are fighting this marxist in the WH.

Maybe we are partly to blame for falling for Bush's eight years of national security feint.

Can you imagine where Bush would have led us if we hadn't had 9-11?

Bush wanted a "new America". One where spanish was spoken on every street. Don't believe me? Read this:

We are now one of the largest Spanish-speaking nations in the world. We're a major source of Latin music, journalism and culture.

Just go to Miami, or San Antonio, Los Angeles, Chicago or West New York, New Jersey ... and close your eyes and listen. You could just as easily be in Santo Domingo or Santiago, or San Miguel de Allende.

For years our nation has debated this change -- some have praised it and others have resented it. By nominating me, my party has made a choice to welcome the new America.

Our future cannot be separated from the future of Latin America.

As I speak, we are celebrating the success of democracy in Mexico.

George Bush from a campaign speech in Miami, August 2000.

You can read the speech here.

Here is an excerpt of a good critique of that speech:

In equating our intimate historic bonds to our mother country and to Canada with our ties to Mexico, W. shows a staggering ignorance of the civilizational facts of life. The reason we are so close to Britain and Canada is that we share with them a common historical culture, language, literature, and legal system, as well as similar standards of behavior, expectations of public officials, and so on. My Bush Epiphany By Lawrence Auster

Is that what you thought about when you vote for him twice? I didn't know about that before the first election and I wasn't about to let Kerry be president but to claim that Bush was far from Obama is simply not true. The man had intentions of socializing large parts of the U.S. in the name of "compassionate conservatism".

Bush's policies led us to Obama. As I posted before if we refuse to see the past we are doomed to relive it. Even if we get another R in the WH in 2012 and he's another Bush clone we will end up back where we are right now in 2016.

Want to see Hilary as president - elect another Bush.

Want to keep the conservative movement alive and thriving - remember who Bush and his ilk (McCain, Graham, Specter, etc.) are and fight just as hard to keep them out of the WH as we would Hilary or as we did Kerry.

I don't think we can go from 41 votes to 60 before 2012 wither. I don't know of that many Democrat Senators will be coming up-for reelection.

We'll probably get a blocking majority on the House and pick up some in the Senate in 2010.

Unless the Republicans don't run against Obama and Obamacare, we should gain the Senate and replace the dictatorship of Obama in 2012.

I will repeat: Since Reagan we have had four liberal failures running this fine country into the grave of history.

That covers the Rats too.

That article made me sick. My optimism for November is a little shaky now.

This is excellent.

Thank you. I am completely fed up with these people that refuse to see the damage Bush did by his inaction.

Well I am tired of your arguments. How can you be tired of anything on this site after having been here for a little more than a year?
I believe your statements make you sound insecure.

...Your going to make me plow through this sh!t again? McCain got the electorate in KY early. I voted late in the day for ublggh,,,R. Paul. My wife and stepson voted for Obama early, cancelled out my vote, and, guess what, Obama won! Ahhhahhahahohoho, my vote didn't rrrrrealy count!!!

...What my vote did, was make ME feeeeeeel better about my convictions, don't vote for a RINO, Obama lite, one party left and right candidate like McCain. BECAUSE HE CAN'T WIN!!

...When republicans nominate a true conservative, constitutional, independent, sort of like Randall Paul, for senate guy, I might vote for a Republican. Got it!!!???
