Tricare fee increases imposed last week by the Defense Department will be repealed by a provision of the compromise 2010 defense authorization bill unveiled Wednesday by House and Senate negotiators.
The fee increases were announced on Sept. 30 and took effect on Oct. 1, but the defense bill, HR 2647, includes a provision barring any fee increases until the start of fiscal 2011.

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bill Matz, president of the National Association for Uniformed Services, said the announcement of fee increases was shocking considering that the Obama administration promised earlier this year to hold off on any new fee Tricare fee increases until fiscal 2011.

“President Obama and DoD assured NAUS and the entire military family earlier this year that there would rightly be no increases in any Tricare fees” in fiscal 2010, Matz said. “We took them at their word, and I can’t believe that a co-pay increase like this was allowed to go forward,” he added.

These are good questions. If we’re all required to have insurance, but the 12,000 new IRS agents audit us and find we don’t comply, what is the penalty? Nobody has said. Nancy Pelosi did not answer the question when asked if people could go to jail for not having insurance.

I'd like to see all employers fire their employees and re-hire them as 1099s. the Independent Contractor now becomes responsible for both sides of FICA, Fed\Local taxes and insurance premiums.

I don't know how many will be, but I do know that the first one that is will have a strong defense built upon the unconstitutionality of the "personal mandate" provision.

Here's the best part, Obama's government will have to pay for the attorneys that will unravel his own legislation. There's something enjoyable in that.

I do believe the government will fine you 8.5% of your GROSS income if you do not have health insurance (and it has to be on THEIR approved insurer list). The IRS is adding 16,000 new agents, and the Obamacare bill gives them the right to not only look in every Americans' savings/checking account, but to TAKE your money for Obamacare, too, and to take your fine money that they say you owe. There is no appeal!

So the answer is simple. Like the Mountain men told Ned Beatty and Jon Voight in the movie Deliverance, “If we want yer money, we'll take yer money!”

Only 16000 new agents? That’s not going to be enough. They have to be trained for at least two months, probably four, and they have to be supervised, and most of them aren’t going to make it. My stint with the IRS was the worst experience of my life. It drove me close to insanity.

Governor Perry continues to keep focus on the Texas economy as the most important issue facing our state.
