Prior to the revolutionary war, only fifteen percent of the populace cared one way or another. That did not matter - in the end those who would fight went to war and sides had to be chosen.
I will fight in war if it comes (the Obama administration has already declared veterans to be terrorists in their view) but I do not long for war. On the other hand there Will be war if this goes through, and neither you nor I can stop it merely by wishing it, or saying the right words.
Therefore this is not entirely a bad thing.
Oh, ha ha...FYI, my ancestor (direct line) fought in the Rev, fought at the Battle of Moore’s Creek, killing the Brit officer in charge leading to the Brits moving north to Yorktown...
I hope we have gotten a bit more sophisticated in our methods after two hundred some odd yrs...
I’m as horrified as all of you at what is happening but good God, I don’t think we are ANY where near what you guys are advocating...have faith in the system those guys 200 yrs ago fought for!

Outstanding. Thx for the link...And as demonstrated on this thread, there are tories among us now. So it will boil down to the same general statistics as in the Revolutionary War....about 20% actually fought and suffered. That percentage has been revised upward through the years, some historians stating it was around 30% but I suspect that 20% is closer to being accurate.

There was a time in this country it was THE LAW that escaped slaves had to be returned to their ‘owners’.
Would you have advocated obedience to that law?

Speaking of folks not getting health care. I believe that any veterans receiving medicare will not receive health care,since VA will not cover anything the medicare system doesn’t, Will the VA hospitals close for lack of business?
