Two pro-life GOP members close to Stupak tell NRO that any Stupak deals are off. They just spoke with him and they said he's finished with Pelosi. They rejected his enrollment corrections proposal.

Not at all. Why even waste time with them? Nazi first wanted to try to get this with a straight vote. Since she can’t, she’ll go the Slaughter way.

Agreed. She may have found herself in a somewhat ugly spot here. A real sticky wicket. She goes for Stupak votes and she may lose pro infanticide votes. She keeps "CHOICE" language and rules - Stupak and his pro life dems cast the tipping votes to epic fail.
Please pass the popcorn.

Human-bat hybrid? Hah! And here all this time I thought he was the infamous MOTHMAN. ;)
Listening some to FNC in the background—some of these ‘Rats sound positively delighted. I’m thinking they either have the votes, or are so close they can taste victory. What a dark day for our country.

I believe Rush discussed the potential Pelosi-Stupak deal a week or so ago (i.e. Stupak gets a House vote to stop Federal Funding of abortion thats in the Senate bill, and then the Senate votes later on the same language). The tactic is to put the Republican Senators in the position of having to vote against removing the Federal Funding in order to wash their hands of the Health care bill.
The Republican's in the Senate should state NOW that they will NOT vote for this. That, by tieing this together with the rest of the health care bill, Bart Stupak and his supporters (not Republicans in the Senate) will be taking FULL RESPONSIBILITY for the abortions to follow. Dems hope to put Republicans in the position of voting against an amendment to restrict Federal funding of abortion. Declare NOW that if this happens, Stupak will be responsible for the abortions.
Right to Life is about MORE than abortions. It is also about the existence of "Death Panels" for the elderly, which are part of the health care bill which Stupak would be voting for. If Republican's do not declare NOW that they will not vote for the Stupak amendment (in Senate bill form), they will be aiding the "Death Panel" health care plan.
Republican Senators should say NO to "Death Panels" and let Stupak bear the abortion burden. BUT THEY HAVE TO SAY IT NOW!

I do not think they have the votes. I think losing Stupak is a very big issue for Pelosi.

To: CSI007
[If this is true then she already has the votes she needs for passage of the bill.]
Or, it means she will lose more votes than she has to gain by allowing the Stupak amendment. Some pro-abortion Rat congresswomen were throwing a real hissy fit over this.
